I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. I'm getting married May 2013. I have been looking at venues for the past month and I've been to all the venues I was interested in. I thought I was ready to make my decision and I'm suppose to put a deposit down at the Westbury Manor. But also really liked the Vennetisn yacht club. Now that I thought I made my final decision I'm not sure. So far I have no complaints for WM. They're always available and respond to my emails whenever I have a question. My issue with VYC is that I'm not getting responses to my emails in a timely manner. I really don't want to have to deal with that while planning my wedding. Has anyone felt this way? And advice on what I should do? Thanks

Re: Help!
Hi.. welcome!
Vendors not responding in a timely manner is a huge pet peeve with me and also a major turn off. I wouldnt want to deal with that, esp with my RH. If WM has been great in all aspects I would go with them. Is there anything VYC is offering that your not getting at WM?

Re: Help!
No there's nothing extra that VYC is offering. The reception room is beautiful; it overlooks the water. WM has beautiful grounds and landscaping for pictures and I like the hall as well. Besides the water there's not much on the grounds of VYC from what I remember. The only thing about WM is since I want a Sunday evening wedding I can't have my ceremony there; they don't do Sunday evening ceremonies. So I have to find a church for my ceremony. They have given me a list of churches close to the venue.

Re: Help!
I looked at VYC in Feb and booked them in March and have never had a problem with them responding to e-mails or phone calls. Not sure who you talked to but we had Samantha (now she left) and it was never an issue and now we have Eric and haven't had a problem.

Re: Help!
I've been speaking to Felicia. The first appointment I had with her she double booked. Then when I email her she doesn't respond in a timely manner. So I'm not sure. I probably will schedule another appointment to see how I feel.

I say go with your gut!! Your gut is always telling you what you should do, and don't doubt it! If you are concerned now about not getting responses, IMO, is a red flag. It could get worse once you put money down and you don't need stress with such an important decision. I did not go to either, so I can't be much help there, but I'm sure you'll make the right choice!
Good luck with everything!!

If you decide to go see VYC again maybe tell them you want to see someone else because she have not been getting responses back. I have no idea who that is so I am no help in that aspect.

Re: Help!
It took me a long time to finally book my venue. At one point I didn't even do anything for one month and then I got this feeling and said 'OMG let me go book Flowerfield'. Maybe you just need to forget about it for a little bit.

Re: Help!
The VYC lost a BM and I know they have people coming back and forth from their other location. When I had went I was told I had an appt with Eric but then met with Daisy. She's from the other place though and was just helping out. Maybe with the changes this Felicia person isn't from their spot and things are a little crazy. I'd definitely ask to be with a BM that's there full time if that's your concern.
VYC was beautiful, I really liked it and their menu was nice. I'm booked at Lombardi's on the Bay but VYC definitely was my second choice. WM is wonderful, my cousin had her wedding there and honestly there was no issues. The cocktail hour was great and the food and service was too. My ONLY concern with WM was that it rained and taking pictures outside wasn't an option. They have a 'photo room' upstairs which was HOT HOT HOT because it was May and it's not handicapped accessible. The stairs were a lot and my dad and grandmother weren't able to go up to have family pictures/spend time with everyone while we were. We kept asking them to turn up the AC and they said it was on full blast but it was still awful. That's the only thing I can think of that went a little weird but otherwise everything was great!
Good Luck!

Re: Help!
We are booked for a Sunday evening wedding at WM and have had no problems with service or response. For me thevoutdoor area sold us and that s what we felt our guests would enjoy. The rooms open right into the gardens and we felt that people could slip out quickly and back in if they wanted to.
We booked holy spirit church which is down the road, they were amazing to talk w and the priest is funny an laid back.
I agree w the girls go w your gut, I know that at WM bc we met w Lorena even tho we went back to book when she was on vacation she is still our contact bc we met w her first. Just make sure that is not the case if you need to switch bm at the venitian.

I think I need to give myself at least a week to think about it. I don't want to wait to long because I don't want for my date to be booked. It's the day before Memorial Day so I'm sure people are looking to book that day. Most venues I went to didn't have it available.

Re: Help!
I'm not sure what my gut is telling me to do. All week the only venue I could think about is WM. now that we've decided to book it I'm not sure and I have butterflies in my stomach. I think I'm just nervous about everything because now it's real. Did anyone else feel that way?
