a friend whom I was very close with as a child is VERY ill - just recieved her SECOND bilateral lung transplant in less than 2 years.
her family is from Brookville, she was a graduate of Oyster Bay HS. She is currently in PA where she just recieved her second bilateral lung transplant in the end of june.
Organ transplants typically total $500,000.00 in expenses when all is said and done and insurance does not cover a LARGE portion of expenses.
My friends parents are having a fund raiser in October and I'd like to help in anyway that I can. I was thinking that we could donate items for raffles (they have asked for donations for raffles) I know that my shower is approaching and Im sure that I will have new items I can part with.
here is the link to Melissa's website. Take a look girls. Melissa has CF... most dont make it to 20, she is 24 and so eager to live.
Let me know if you can help, Ill be in contact with Melissa's mom Maureen.
Heather - mimacat - DVD Player Danielle - Yelley - cash donation

Re: help a friend in need ... please
what types of donations are you looking for? My company is running a large corporate event in September and we will have leftover giveaway items- sports bags, water bottles, and probably some North American Atlases- we would gladly send some over if that would help

I am going to call Melissa's mom tonight. On the website it says 'electronics' but I figured even household items (things we would get at our showers) are very practical and would raffle well!
Ill ask her tonight and keep you posted! THANKS so much

Hm. I'll see. But if its for a good cause, we don't mind going out and spending some money.
