Hi ladies, I just got engaged last week and I am actually a brand new 08 bride but I figure you guys might have some wisdom to share with me :) Some of the places I am considering for my reception are below. From your experience or things you have heard, can you give me any pros or cons about these place?

Thanks so much for your help!

Re: Help a newbie out!
Welcome and Congratulations on your Engagement!!!
I had my wedding this summer at Lombardi's on the Sound and loved every second of it...I had been to visit a bunch of places (although none of the others on your list) and as soon as I walked in there I knew it was the place...and they obviously have a reputation for lots and lots of amazing food which they definately live up to...and all the people that we worked with were great....I'm obviously biased especially since I don't know anything about any of the other places on your list but I just wanted to put in a good word for LOS...
I have some pics in my album and here is the link to My Review and definately FM me if you have any questions

Lombardi's on the Sound is supposed to be gorgoeus, My RH was Villa Lombardi's, and they were beyond amazing!
I've heard wonderful things about Venetian Yacht Club, ad my cousin had her Rh at Giorgios-it was awesome! East Wind is supposed to be very ncie as well, butnot sure how the food is, bu they have beautiful grounds!
Im always going to be partial to my RH! Villa Lombardi's! The food and service and grounds are beyond amazing, and you'll never see a cocktail hour so big in ur whole life!

Congrats!!
I got married at Giorgio's and I absolutely loved it. They were utterly amazing through every step of the way.
We looked at Lombardi's on the Sound, but we couldn't meet the minimum and since we wanted a night wedding in the winter, the view became a non issue. It is beautiful. Lombardi's are fantastic. I went to high school with their son and we had our prom at Villa.

We got married at Giorgio's and, like the other girls, I have NOT ONE SINGLE COMPLAINT!! They were awesome to work with from step one until the end of the whole process. I would recommend them over and over again. You got a so much for your money, the place is beautiful, the food is amazing, and they treat you like a price and princess. I loved them!!!

Re: Help a newbie out!
congrats!!! i got married at coindre hall last month. the place is fabulous. here's some info i sent to another bride who was intersted in coindre hall. if you have any other questions feel free to FM me. i really hope to get my review with pics up soon. stay tuned for that:
coindre hall IS awesome. it's funny b/c i think people either love it or hate it. we though it was just beautiful and so well maintained. and we received so many compliments on the location. the place is owned by the suffolk county park & recreations department so, in essence, you rent the place from them - although the caterer you work with will facilitate that so it's not like you have to contact the county seperately or anything. you get it for the entire day which is really nice. there is a site fee. we paid a little less than $2,000 for a saturday nite. friday nite and sunday were less. don't let this scare you though b/c if you work with a caterer you can keep costs down for per person. if you want to go see it...
deal with the caterer first since they act as the go-between with the town/county. the good news is there is more than one caterer that works out of the building.
if you're looking for a standard wedding package that includes the usual wedding foods and alcohol, check out lessing's. if i remember correctly their price for saturday nite was around $125 (http://www.lessings.com/UNI_home.asp?ui=COI&ven=p)
if you're looking for something that's more customizable there's: Philip Stone Caterers. another bride on here used them and loved them.. i'm not sure of pricing. (516) 326-2156 X 1901 www.stonecaterers.com 1979 Marcus Ave., Suite E-108, Lake Success, NY 11042 if they work the way our caterer did, you bring in your own alcohol. this saved us a lot of money.
we worked with andrews fabulous food and events management. DO NOT USE THEM. the event manager there (the person who would be planning and running the event) was difficult to work with. i'll be posting all they gory details in my review, but here are some for starters. i had to constantly follow-up with him throughout the planning process, he forgot several key details the day of (like the cake cutting), he snapped at one of my guests at the rehersal, he yelled at one of my vendors, he yelled at my sister as she helped with the clean-up and a wait staff member in the dining room in front of our guests. in addition, i just recently found out, that at the end of the nite he had the bartender start serving drinks in plastic cups!
