I got a gift from my registry (my shower has not happened yet its soon though) to my house from someone who cant make the wedding, do i wait until after the wedding to write them a thank you or do i do it now?
Also i got a gift from my registry in the mail from someone who is coming, do i call them to thank them? or do i write them a thank you after the wedding?

Re: HELP about Thank Yous
Normally, the proper etiquette is to write thank you cards to your guests before the wedding since the gifts will be arriving to your home instead of given on the day of the wedding. However, if you find it easier to do your thank you cards after your wedding it should not be a problem. I would def write a thank you card to your guest that sent a gift but could not make it. As for the person who is coming that sent a gift, you can write it to him/her afterward (particularly if you're planning to do thank you photo cards). I did all of thank you cards after my wedding since the planning got too hectic. I wouldn't fret over it too much as long as the cards are sent to people you received gifts from it should be fine.

Re: HELP about Thank Yous
i would send a thank you to both of them. Get it out of the way, cause who knows how much you will remember when the day is even closer.
i got a gift in the mail last week, and my shower is 2 weeks away , it was from someone who couldn't make the shower and i immediatley sent them a thank you

It depends... if your thank yous are going to include pics of you at your wedding then you will have to wait. If you have them already then write them.

Re: HELP about Thank Yous
As I recieve gifts early...I always just write one out and send it. That way I dont forget because with the wedding and all the opther gifts coming in and the gifts from the reception, those things can get overlooked and forgotten. So I would send one out now, just in case!

I've been doing the same. Whether people are coming or not, as soon as I get a gift from them, I send out a thank you. As we get closer (within 3 weeks of the wedding) I will probably stop doing that.
I will send a second thank you to everyone who comes to the wedding, no matter if I receive another gift from them or not. That's one of the reasons we're doing photo thank yous -- an excuse to give everyone a little self-portrait momento.

Re: HELP about Thank Yous
I sent TYs right away on regular TY cards...after the wedding when I had my pro picture cards, I sent out another one to them thanking them again. For the guests that sent gifts who did come to the wedding, I did the same thing.

immediately send thank you's to all... as each gift arrives, get it out of the way... so they at least know you got it
