help! am in sydney but need a photographer in nyc!

hi there! i'm a newbie, and a newlywed...

got married here in sydney feb 18, but we're having our reception in new york july 9 at the rodeo bar.

my husband and i are both americans but we've lived in australia for years and rears. this is our 2nd marriage... between us we have 6 kids and a HUUUUGE extended family, so the reception will be like a family reunion and wedding celebration all rolled up in one.

so, obviously, a photographer is really really important. i don't want to spend a fortune, but i'd like someone who is easy to have around, good with kids, and reasonably priced.

does anyone have any recommendations? it's difficult to organise such a massive undertaking from the other side of the world!

i don't know what your price range is, but my photographer is this australian lady named natasha staszak. i think you'd hit it off great--

I highly recommend Dan Wagner! He works in the city often and has very good prices. He's done photo shoots of celebrities and does ads for Absolute Vodka and others as well.

and...he is SO nice and down to earth!

of course my biggest concern is how much it's going to cost (aarrgh, that's always what it comes down to, hey?).

and since we're not having a wedding, just a reception, do you think it'd be better (read: cheaper) to call it a party instead?

husband is saying he wants to get ahold of some friends in new york who may know a photographer, but i have the thing of wanting proper photos of this.... we'll never have this much family gathered in one place again, and i'd like it documented really well.
