HELP!! Another Invite Quest. on Wording

anyone else have divorced parents, mother re-married, giving the wedding along with FIL's??

I am in a qaundry with my wording..

I can't have:
Mrs. Mom Mylast and Mr. Stepdad Hislast
and
Mr. Dad Mylast
with
Mrs. MIL and Mr. FIL Theirlast

thought this would be a solution, but then my stepdad's name is before my father's name.. And the mom always goes before the dad when divorced. PLUS, I need to put first names on there, cause if I do Mr. and Mrs. Stepdad-- my mom's name is not on the invite at all- and that's just not right.. but then-- there is much stuff!!

ARGGHH!!

help me please...

'Together with our parents'

We thought about doing that but i just couldn't...My parents are doing the majority though...So we put only mine...
I would have felt sooo bad leaving my dad's name off after all the things he is doing for us

Well- our parents are paying for most of it-- and it's a substanial contribution.. I really feel our parents names need to be on there. Not just for the financial reasons-- I like it more, it just feels right.

Thanks though...

I have same situation. Not happy about having stepdad's name on invite at all (especially before dad's name) but didnt have a choice (I am told indirectly stepdad is paying too, since mom is).

Mr. and Mrs. Stepdad's Name
Mr. Dad's Name
Ms. MIL's Name
Mr. and Mrs. FIL's Name
request the honour of your presence
at the marriage of their children
Me
and
Fiance

it is long but actually looks fine (invites came in last week).

Re: HELP!! Another Invite Quest. on Wording

My parents are divorced and only my mom is remarried. Only my dad is helping us financially, but I still wanted my moms name on the invite. (not stepdads name) So we did:

Mr. John Smith
and
Mrs. Jane Doe
request the honour of your presence
at the marriage of their daughter
Patricia Lynn
to
Timothy Joseph
son of
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Black
etc.

Hope this helps.

Re: HELP!! Another Invite Quest. on Wording

thanks for all your suggestions... I actually wrote out the copy last night and sent it to my mom.. and she showed it to Stepdad.. He said it looked stupid with all those names, so he gave permission to not have him on the invite.. as I guess his name will still be represented with my mom's current last name..

SO, if I run into all sorts of problems, I can just omit it-- plus- the programs will have his name in it, and he will part of the ceremony, etc.. He is paying cause my mom and him are jointly contributing.. but, at least he is practical!

Weddings have gotten so damn complicated-- used to be a gift of a goat and a special meal!
