I am up to the DJ process now! I feel the music is the most important part of the wedding. I am hearing wonderful reviews about Bravura, FH, Tommy Tunes, and Body Rock, but am not sure what the going rate for any of them are. Anyone have any ideas? We are also looking to add either a percussionist or a sax player. Thanks girls!

I am using Dance Jock, but met with Bravura and Body Rock. They were all nice, but Dance Jock gave us the best price for what we wanted.
the basic package started at $1600 for 5 hours of music. Obviously everything else is additional. Bravura was just a little more expensive. I'm also having a percussionist, which I'm almost positive was about $650 extra. I also think that Tommy Tunes is on the less expensive side.

I am using 2 Plus 2 Entertainment (located in Howard Beach) and paying $3,000. That is with everything, flat screens, one guy on drums, lights, MC, photo guy to take pics and they show on the screen. Of course I did not want give a ways.

Wow! That seems reasonable for all of that. I love these new DJ entertainment businesses. They are so much cheaper than a band and I feel that you get the best of both worlds with the live entertainment as well. I love the idea of the plasma screens showing old pictures of the bride and groom and guests at the wedding!

I spoke with Brauvara (FH vendor, fellow FH bride) and they told me they start at 2100 for just the DJ
Top Hat said 1599 FM Entertainment around 1k for DJ and MC Xtreme Sounds 1365 for DJ and MC

I think Bravura was 3300 w/ a percussionist and band for coctail hour. A lot of girls on here are using FM and I think they are super cheap----like $1000.

im using castle.. they are charing me 2k that includes flat screens, photo montage, dj and mc, dry ice for 1st dance, crazy light show, names in lights... they are really good!!!

Body Rock is an amazing DJ! All my cousins and brother had them.. I reallly really regret not having a DJ for my wedding. A band is nice and classy, but no matter how good the band a DJ always rocks the place.

We aree getting married during the day in the skylight room at JT. The room has a dome opening up the room to sunlight so we didnt need any lights or special effect.
We are paying $1500 for a DJ as well as an MC to motivate the crowd. We have beend to a few events with them as a DJ and their energy is awesome!

We are using All-Star. $1450 includes Mc/Dj for ceremony/cocktail hour and reception. Plasma screen tv. Sax for cocktail hour and percussionist for reception.
