HELP: Anyone know of any home rentals in Huntington area (not thru broker?)

We will need something around February....

We can't afford the broker fees - so I'm hoping maybe you guys knew of someone?

We can afford $2000/mt or less... maybe $2100 if utilities/oil were included....

We need at least 2 bedroom - DH has 2 kids, and we are having a baby early April. We need a bathtub in the bathroom, and washer/dryer.... Ideally 3 bedrooms because I always wanted to have a special room for the baby, but I have to be realistic with the amount of money we will have...

Is this impossible? We would take an apt, but I'm not sure if washer/dryer would be available with an apartment unless its in someones house... We rent a house now in Huntington, but for a steal and the landlord wants to move back in April (just around the time the baby is born!!!)

Can anyone please help? Let me know!!!

checkk out craigslist.org and then put in by owner or no fee!

I think I read on here somewhere that the Catholic News is a great place to look for affordable apartments. You might try to get a copy and look there. Sounds odd, but I've heard they have great listings!

check newsday website. we tried to find a rental last year as we didn't want to/couldn't afford relator fees, but ended up using a relator anyway because we couldn't find what we wanted. i hope things go better for you!!!

I know you said Huntington area but Stony Brook University's off campus housing site has a whole bunch of houses for rent in the Stony Brook area. That's how I found my last apt. I'm not a Stony Brook student but my landlords didn't care - they were just happy to find someone relaible to rent the apt.! Thanks - but thats WAAAAY to far - DH works in the city and his daughters live in Plainview - my job is in Bethpage, Bellmore, and South Huntington, and the daycare center will be in Huntington....
