Help. Anyone whose fiance likes to hit snooze 5 times every morning?
Hi guys. I am looking for some advice. It is not a big deal but it slowly becoming one. My fiance does not hear very well (no joke) . So the alarm will go off, 5-7 times some mornings and it's stressful to wake up to. I sleep with earplugs but it does not always help. I have asked him to limit the number of times he sets it to 2, but he gets annoyed. Basically when his alarm keeps going off, I can't sleep. I do have a job which requires me to be highly functioning mentally. Any advice for the non snoozers out there? When my alarm goes off or I rattle through my vitamins, he hears that and gets annoyed as well. What to do, advice?

I'm not sure if it's helpful, but I just wake up first. Every little thing wakes me up, so once FH is up, I can't sleep anyway. I tend to wake up earlier than him, anyway. Maybe you could get into the habit of going to the gym or taking an early morning walk so the two of you wake up at the same time?

Ok... I hit snooze 5 billion times each morning. I can't hear the alarm hald the time and I think it's because I don't really fall into deep sleep until the early morning hours. Exercise helps me get to sleep earlier and sleep deeper earlier in the night so I can wake up without 5 snooze button slaps in the morning.
I am also thinking about purchasing this alarmclock that slowly likes up your room like daybreak until it's extremely bright. I notice I wake up without even pressing snooze when it's brighter earlier in the morning. I just can't remember where I say the alarm clock Sharper Image or Brookstone maybe? Amazon?

The first time it goes off kick him in the shins if you are already awake. That'll get him out of bed!!!
When FH needs to get up early on weekends I set the alarm (he doesn't hear it anyway), and I tell him he needs to get up because I am turning it off and going back to sleep. Knowing there is no snooze will get him up.
Maybe promise him some morning nookie if he doesn't hit snooze. That'll get him up in more ways than one.

My fiance does the same thing...I think it is a man thing.....He will hit the snooze button 4 or 5 times every morning. I just get annoyed
What a great and simple idea to just get up and go for a walk....because in reality that 30-60 mins after is just a waste and makes me more tired
I love it, thank you for the suggestion!!!!!!!!!

Wow I can sympathize with all of you! My fiance gets in and out of bed for an hour and a half each morning. Then sometimes he calls from the car or his job just as I fall back asleep. So early mornings have become my 'wedding time' for the tedious planning stuff. :)

What about if you move the alarm to the other side of the room, then he will physically have to get out of bed to turn it off. I have to do that, or else I just keep hitting snooze for at least 30 minutes and it drives DH nuts!

He's being inconsiderate. Why doesn't he just set the alarm for the time he HAS to get up ? This is something you will have to get used to for the rest of your married life unless you set some ground rules now. In our house, when one of us wants to go to sleep, then the other has to watch TV in one of the other rooms. Neither of us hits the snooze button in the morning, I get up at the same time every day and DH gets up at different times. If one is still sleeping, the other will get dressed in another room.

Re: Help. Anyone whose fiance likes to hit snooze 5 times every morning?
I have ALWAYS had this problem...I can't wake up for the life of me and it doesn't matter what time I go to bed I will have two or three alarms set and I still have a helluva time. And this has been going on since HS. I have at times shut the alarm off completely in my sleep not realizing it and we both oversleep... But recently FH has voiced his frustration with being woken up four time before he needs to be up. So I have been making a TRUE effort to get up the first time my alarm goes off. What I've been doing is setting the vibrate alarm on my cellphone and placing it under my pillow. When that goes off it wakes me up enough so that I at least sit up in bed and try to wake my butt up, but doesn't jolt him awake. Tell your FH how it's upsetting you. I didn't realize how much it was affecting him and now he is making a note of how hard I'm trying to adjust my habits for HIM! GL

FH does this too and I always complain, but he continues. So what I do is if I wake up before MY alarm goes off, and he is still sleeping, I leave the room, don't turn my alarm off, and then let it continue to go off so he is woken up.
Sometimes karma needs a little push :)
It's all in good fun though.

Girls, you are hysterical. I do not feel alone anymore. It sounds like a very common theme in relationships. I was starting to feel guilty like i was being the transgressor and overreacting. Thank you so much. I love all your suggestions. I think I may just shut his alarm off after the second time and possibly make him late to work. He prob would learn. That sounds like a plan. Exercise is good as well...
