Help - are there any Brides out there who are not into flowers?
Okay, I'm pretty discouraged as I'm searching and searching through magazines and the internet for CPs and bouquets and I'm just not loving anything I see. Everything looks the same to me! Are there any florists that don't do the norm, and perhaps try to translate what I'm looking for? I mean, I want flowers but I don't want something that screams flowers, if that makes any sense. I know this is a long shot, I don't even understand what I'm looking for.
I guess I'm just very frustrated with all this and needed to vent...

You are allowed to vent
I wasnt too into flowers either until I went to a friends wedding recently. Originally I was going to have a handful of different sized candles as canterpieces and around the bottom of the candles wrap it with ivy or babys breath...and instead of carrying a BoK carry a single long stemmed calla lily or 2 or 3...HTH

I totally understand what you mean.. do you have the colors for your wedding picked out? I found it helpful to sit down with my florist. He was fabulous and really showed us pics and helped us to choose what worked with our color scheme. THat might be helpful....
Good luck!!

That's me! I'm so not into them or big gaude centerpieces. IMO it's a waste of money and the flowers die a few days later. I'm tryin to find somoething-candles or something, maybe a few flowers that would work well. The pictures on this post are beautiful, thanks!

I didn't want to fuss with CP's so I just asked my hall to put candles on the tables - all different sizes and shapes - and I bought red rose petals for them to scatter everywhere. I loved the look, very romantic and old-world rustic like if that makes any sense?

The August Issue of Modern Bride has unique CP in it and maybe you can get some inspiration from there. You could always use fruit as a centerpiece in a unique way. One of my favorites from this issue is the use of white branch coral in different sizes and shapes around crystal candle holders with white candles. I'm almost wondering if you can paint the coral to incorporate your wedding colors????
Good luck!

there are a lot of more 'modern' cps and bouquets on this website. a lot of them use fruit. you could have the flowers taken out and just use that.

I've also seen stacks of favors on cake stands as centerpieces, or different small wedding cakes on stands as centerpieces for each table.

I'm not really into flowers, but since FMIL is paying for them, I'm getting floral centerpieces - I don't mind so much because I'll choose the colors, but I definitely going to use a lot of candles and tulle where I can.
