HELP-Bands!!!!

Hey everyone, I would really love to have a band at the reception. I'm a bit worried because they are pretty pricy. Does anyone know of any bands that are reasonably priced and good? I'm thinking of a 6-7 member band versus a 9 or 10 piece band. How much would they be? I wouold appreciate all the feedback. Thanks.

HELP-Bands!!!!

What day of the week is your wedding? My wedding is on a Saturday night so I have slightly hirer prices than other days. I have seen only one band I could recommend for less than $4000 - the project. Not sure who represents them but they showcase at Russos on the Bay pretty often. They are a 5 piece band. Other bands that are a bit more expensive include Code Blue, Paris, and Timepiece. Im sure there are quite a few others but we stopped looking after hearing Timepiece. Hope that helps.

HELP-Bands!!!!

Full House Music is great and they are priced around $3400. Also, The Mystic is great and they are about $4000 (I think). Faze4 is also fantastic, but more $$$. For less people, they might be more reasonable. Good luck!

What you can do...

Go see some bands - and then call and speak to the managers about what you can do about price. The closer it gets to your wedding the better - if they aren't booked you will see that the price will come down. Also, ask if you can cut some of the members - at first they might say no but you have to come back with that you'd love to have the band but just can't afford it. (I had six pieces) and I will be honest, you don't notice the difference - I was going to add another horn player and I'm glad I saved the money...

Times Square Orchestra

We booked the Times Square Orchestra, based out of Garden City. They are an 8-piece band. The bandleader is Joe Tucci and their website is www.timesquaremusic.com We are having an afternoon reception on a Saturday in May 2002, and for all 8-pieces and the cocktail hour music included, we are paying $4000. Hope that helps.

East Coast Band

I got East Coast Band for a saturday night reception in 2002 for $4300. This includes $300 for a three piece jazz ensamble for the cocktail hour. eastcoastband.com is their site. They have a few MP3 and video files for you to look at. They are very nice and really talk to you about what you are looking for that day.

HELP-Bands!!!!

I just booked my band 2 days ago - and I LOVE them!!! They played at my cousin's wedding and I'm so excited to have them at mine. The band is 'Route 66' - the Leader is Deena Miller. Her band also goes through one of the very big entertainment companies that we've all heard of, but if you book through HER she saves you thousands of dollars. I'm paying $5100 for 8 pieces. Let me know if you want info! ~S
