help.. bridesmaid dress problem

ok so i really love the way tea length dresses look with strappy shoes, so i was about to go look around at davids bridal when the the consultant told me i shouldnt get tea length dresses with my dress cause my dress is so formal. do you think i could still do the tea length dress with this type of dress? or should i obey and get a normal long dress for the girls?? here's my dress

p.s. please also note that im a heavily tattooed girl and im not covering them, so really, i dont know if you would consider the whole thing formal

p.p.s. i love this bridesmaid dress, but would it conflict with mine??

the pic of the bridemaid dress doesn't look like a tea length dress and i think it looks great with your dress

I am doing something similar from davids bridal but seperates. I say it doesnt matter if you love tea length then go for it!

I think the pickups in the girls dress would really complement your pick ups. I really like the first BM dress you posted rather than the short but totally up to you JMO

Go tea length! Screw that! Give me a break. Go with what YOU want...not what they tell you.

Alsoooooooo....I thought of you today when I was reading a bridal magazine. Did you see the contest where you could win a free 100K wedding and be the first people to get married on the steps of cinderellas castle in Disney? Sylvia Weinstock does your cake...and a bunch of other dream-team wedding people help design the perfect day!

I think tea length would look fine! It is very popular right now, no matter what your dress looks like. Pick what you want....all of the dresses you posted are very nice....I went with tea length and I have a very formal dress.....I just love the way it looks!

so do i...especially cause it's the same one i had for my BM's! IMO, do what you want! i love the combo you originally posted too, the pick ups would compliment your dress perfectly! but i would want to be the one that stood out most, not my BM's! all eyes on you! so you get the dress that catches everyones attention and have your BMs in something very pretty, but not attention grabbing.

My dress looks kind of formal and I'm doing tea length dresses. I just never really liked the floor length gowns for the BMs. The saleslady kept trying to persuade me towards floor length, but I stood my ground. I say, its your day, you do what you want to do. I think the tea length dresses would look great!!!

i think tea length would be fine. i wouldn't do a BM dress with pickups. your dress should stand out as being different.

I think all these tea lengths look very fancy.... I have a pick-up dress and personally I think the pick up BM dress looks too much......

i also really like the BM dress with the pull-ups but i dont like the look of them when the bride has a dress with pull-ups

i think a tea length is formal enough - but the longer ones in the pics

I like the long one that you posted first. It would really compliment your dress and I think it is sooo beautiful!!

Re: help.. bridesmaid dress problem

If you like the way the tea length dresses look, I say go with that. It's your wedding, and the bridal consultant at DB, and all us liw girls are free to give our opinions, but ultimately you should do what makes you happiest.

And as a fellow pick-up dress bride, I have to say that although I LOVE all things pick-up, I don't want my girls in it. I want them to be wearing beautiful dresses, but I DON'T want them wearing beautiful dresses that compete with or look anything like my wedding gown. I don't mean to sound super psyhco bridezillaish (look at me look at me!! , but keep in mind that it is your day and you should stand out (granted you as the bride will stand out regardless, but you know what I mean!).
Good luck!
