Help! Can't find a dress

Ladies-

I really need your help. I have been to Klienfeld's(had the worst experience ever!!!), Saks, Macys and Davids Bridal and I can't find a dress.

Where can I find a dress on LI, in the City or in Queens? I am starting to panic! Any recomendations?
Thanks.

Re: Help! Can't find a dress

I went to 5 or 6 stores and got very frustrated, too. So, I decided to go online and find a few dresses that I loved. Then, I called salons to see if they had that dress. Finally, I found a store that had the dress..I tried it on and it was love at first site ;)

FYI- I bought my dress at Helen's Bridal (Commack)

You could try Helen's Bridal in Commack, Lillette's in Baldwin, RK Bridal in the city and the Wedding Plaza in Floral Park (where I got mine). They were really nice at all of them.

Wow... see my post:

I'm sorry if I didn't post that correctly but it was basically a thread with the same exact problem so I know exactly where you are coming from and am still freaking out about not having a dress! Here are my recommendations:
1. wedding atelier
2. designer loft
3. adrienne's
4. Pronovious

These are all of the ones I had a really great experience with!!! They are smaller stores but really great, attentive staff!

Re: Help! Can't find a dress

I went to the Wedding Center in Commack and after trying on a few dresses the woman got a feel for what would be best for me, came out with a gorgeous dress, and that was finally MY dress. They have SO many different styles of dresses, you could probably find one there. Have you tried Bridal Reflections? I literally live a few blocks away from the one in Massapequa, & the place is always busy busy busy. The one time I did go there, the people who work there were very kind and helpful to me!

Don't get discouraged, you'll find your dress

Re: Help! Can't find a dress

Someone else had a similar post...I would definitely look online to get an idea of what you like and then call some of the stores mentioned to see if they carry them. Also, keep in mind there are some cools sites you can check out like www.BestBridalprices.com that have all sorts of designer dresses (including Maggie Sottero etc.) and most of them are quoting 11-13 weeks (3 months) regular delivery and you can also rush deliver for an extra $100 so don't panic - you still have time. My wedding is in June and I still haven't found mine yet. I figure as long as I order in December I will be fine. Good luck.

Re: Help! Can't find a dress

Thanks all. My mother just said we should go to NJ. Has anyone looked out there?

I tried on the amazing Reem Acra dress, but its way out of the budget. Not sure why I did that to myself, I guess I never thought that I would like the style. Its a little over the top!

Let me see if I can find a pic to share. I am definitely into the princess, strappless, ballgown type of dress which I didn't think I would go for at all. During the wedding I am planning to do a dress change (something sexy and slinky - any suggestions?) so that I can serenade my FH. He doesn't know it will be a surprise. I will disappear for a while, music will play, the doors will open and I will begin to sing a song to him. I am so excited about it.

What do you guys think? Thanks so much for your help. I dont know how I could make it without your support!

I am sure you will be ok at Kleinfelds. My issue was that my attendant only gave me dresses that she thought that I would look good in. The only problem was that it was exactly what I didnt want. For example, I dont want lace on my dress. So we spent the first 30 minutes only trying on dresses with lace because she thought she could make me a believer.

Overall it was fine, it was just frustrated for the first 50 minutes or so. Then my Aunt had a 'talk' with her and we were all good from there.

Its a beautiful place. And your experience will be magical. I my chick was just having a bad day. She said she was so excited because I was tall. blah blah blah....I am not that tall. but in comparison to her I guess I was.

Anywhoo...good luck!

Re: Help! Can't find a dress

Iman's in Glen Cove plus she custom makes dresses reasonably...so maybe she can make you a replica of the reem acra...fyi she used to be the designer for Kleinfelds but now she has her own place...this is where I am going and I know many people that jhave gone there...she is a dress maker the alterations come out perfect!
