We were definitely NOT going to do a video and then all of a sudden I decided I want one - after looking at recap videos, I completely changed my mind. FH is not thrilled, but says if I want it, go for it. We met with two vendors this week. The first one, I really liked his work, but not overly thrilled with his personality (and FH definitely not a fan of the personality). the second one - tboth of us thought his personality was great, and his work was good, but I like the work of the first one better. FH says to do whatever I want (big help there ) (and these were the two that I spoke to that are 1) available for our date; 2) within our budget; and 3) I liked their video samples on their websites) What would you do?

Re: Help choosing Videographer
Personally, I don't think it really matters what their personality is like, as long as they do good work. You won't be talking to them that day. If you liked #1 better, then go with them.

Personality is a very important piece actually - our video guy was amazing, we got along so well and it was so important that we had a vibe because they're around you ALL DAY long. We used Myther Ganibe - AMAZING!!!

Re: Help choosing Videographer
you have to remember that the video guy will be around you all day long...you dont want someone that you didn't jive with during an hour or so initial visit..thats just me tho. My videographer FH and I knew right off the bat that he was the one to video our wedding...we meshed well and I know that will come through in the final product
Can you tell us who you narrowed the two down too?

Re: Help choosing Videographer
What is a reasonable price for a videographer. I am also going back and forth on if I want this or not and I tried a few that people have suggested AJ and Myther but both were booked for my date. I do want it but I don't want to spend 2500 for it! What are the average costs out there so I at least know if I am getting a decent deal with any of the people I talk to.

This. I booked all my vendors due to personality and of course work but personality was a big thing for me. DH and I are very laid back and love to have fun, I needed the same from our vendors. Myther was great..needless to say that he and I danced towards the end of the night..it was great.

Re: Help choosing Videographer
I think personality is a very important part of it. For me at least! When we booked our video, we originally just got it as part of our photo package, but we never got to meet the actual videographer, which didn't sit well with me. Then after telling them what we wanted, and seeing their work, we realized they just weren't for us.
We met with JayR Castillo and right away connected. He has a great personality and I felt he really tried to understand us as a couple and what we are looking for. A great videographer will try to depict the story of your wedding day, and in order to do that I think you need to click.
