Help! Christmas Engagement Party

Hi Girls I was having a hard time deciding where to do our engagement party but my parents said they would throw us one at our house. We decided on Jan 2nd because it will still be all decorated for Christmas and that is such a nice time of year. We are going to do it in the house and also have a heated tent in the yard to fit everyone comfortably. Any ideas of what I can do for a Christmas themed e-party? Center pieces, decorations, invites, etc? I am at a loss because I was originally planning it to be in Novemeber. Any good websites for things like that?

My girlfriend got married a couple days BEFORE christmas a few years ago.

Her centerpieces at her wedding she made herself. They were xmas trees about a foot tall that she hot-glued tiny tree decorations on with stars on the top. (I actually still have it from the wedding so if you're interested in seeing it I can pull it out of my closet and take a picture.)

Also her party favors with christmas tree ornaments with the husband and her names with the date. That might make a really really cute save the date idea! Instead of typical magnets or whathaveyou - make decorative xmas themed ornaments the save the dates. just a cute idea.

Jan 2nd is my wedding date!!! I am biased...but I think it's a great day to do an engagement party either at an inside venue or a heated tent sounds marvelous. For centerpieces you could make your own with branches, and hang crystal like ornaments and have everyone take one as a favor! just an idea! You could serve hot apple cider, cookies, or hot cocca. There's also some great favors - hot coccoa packs with mugs, candles etc. You could also do simple iced looking hurricane candles as CPs.
