Ok, so I am trying to create a monogram to use on our favor tags, and every one that I make looks crappy. I have tried everything, from making them in a graphics program with each letter in a text box, then kind of overlapping, to making them in word. I have come to think that maybe I do not have the right font. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good font for a monogram? Preferably a swirly one, rather than a block type font. Also, for those of you who created them, what program did you use? Thanks!

Re: Help! creating a monogram
Some fonts just dont lend themselves to nice looking monograms with certain letters.
Check out www.dafont.com for a huge selection of free fonts.
Whenever I make a monogram I use Photoshop but you can do it any program where you can overlay text as you described.
Edited to add: Sometimes with swirly script fonts, you need to draw in extra bits to make the letters all flow with each other. If you are not able to do that, the scripty fonts can SOMETIMES look disjointed. So block fonts are a bit easier to do monograms with.

Thanks for the font site Stef, one can never have too many fonts :) I think I'm just doomed to have a really ugly married monogram. The combination of letters is just horrid.
