I don't post often but I am desperately seeking advice. We're getting married at Crescent Beach Club in 24 days. We went there yesterday cause we heard the renovations (promised to be finished in mid-March) are still not complete. We were planning to have our ceremony there & enjoy the atmosphere with an outdoor/indoor cocktail hour. When we went yesterday, there were plenty of workers there but the place for our cocktail hour was totally not done & seemingly in the middle of construction. I have been so calm & relaxed during all of our planning but this dilema is enough to drive me over the edge. I just can't believe that this is happening. We loved Crescent so much that we booked it even though it was a little pricey. We choose a Fri. night (even though I prefer a Sat.) so we could afford it. And we choose to go cheaper on other things. And now we may not be getting the weddings of our dreams cause they haven't kept their promises. Other than, try to remain calm, any advice?

Re: Help! Crescent Beach Club Dilema
I'm so sorry that you're having to worry about this so close to your wedding! I think that if they told you things would be a certain way and if it turns out that you really think that they are *not* going to be, they should be offering you compensation in some serious way. It couldn't hurt to ask. You are being very reasonable. Speak to the catering manager, I think tell him exactly what you wrote on here and ask how he can rectify the situation. (Throw in extras? Reduce cost?). Whatever he offers, get it in writing, but emphasize to him that what you are paying for, you really don't think you're getting if you have to deal with construction junk! Please let us know how it turns out!!! Good luck

Re: Help! Crescent Beach Club Dilema
Did you ask them now when its supposed to be done?? I dont know if this makes you feel anybetter but if they have been working on it for awhile and it just looks like a mess they will be done before your wedding. My FH is a construction worker and I have seen first hand one day it looks like a disaster area and the next week you wouldnt even recognize the place.
eta - If they tell you it wont be done on time I would DEFINITLY try to get the price really reduced and some extras thrown in for all this stress!!

Re: Help! Crescent Beach Club Dilema
Thanks for all the sympathy! When we went to Crescent yesterday we didn't speack with management at all. FH called today to set up a meeting. Thanks for the advice about seeking compensation and/or reduction in price. I'll let you know what happens. It just sucks, I had been crossing my fingers for nice weather to be able to get married on the beach, now I have to cross my fingers for just a decent place to get married.
