HELP! Curly/Wavy hair girls who blow out their hair
I have naturally curly/wavy hair but I blow it out straight most of the time (I wear it curly once or twice a week sometimes). I have my hair trial next week and they told my to blow it out but the problem is when its straight it doesnt do anything and becomes really thin. I want her to try 2 different styles, 1 down and one just pulled back....Here's where I need help....When she goes to pull my hair back I want it to be thick looking with some texture to it...kinda like what it looks like if I have my hair curly and pull it back. I dont want it to be straight and pulled back. Will she be able to provide that kind of a look for me?

I also do the same thing with my hair. I was told NOT to straight Iron my hair because it will be harder to curl and wont hold as well. If you want body I would do it curly for the pull back and she could always straighten or use a curling iron on the back. If you want it down and straight you will prob have to go back and try it with your hair straight.

Ahhh....I feel your pain!! I had my trail last week & she actually had a hard time keeping my hair straight after I blow it out. My hair is super thick. I'm actually finally having the Japanese hair straighter done next Monday (thats how often I wear my hair straight, lol.) I'm going to keep my fingers crossed she can work with my hair after that if not I'll wear it straight I don't mind.
Tell your hairdresser to use thick pins in your hair so it holds it better. I wish you the best of luck!!

I am too nervous to wear my hair straight the day of the wedding because what if it is humid out or rains - my hair gets crazy! So - that would be my concern,

A good stylist will use the right products to make sure that does not happen. I too have curly frizzy hair and got married in August. My stylist used such good products...even though it did not rain

my hair is the same way!! When i had my trial it stayed straight the whole day and night and it was raining! i was in shock. let the your hair lady know your concern and she should be able to do it for you. good luck!!

Did they say to blow it straight or just blow it? I work in a hair salon and we tell the clients who are coming in for updo's to come in with their hair washed and dried already mainly because the hair does not stay as well if it's washed and dried and immediately put up. It comes out better after the hair has been dried for some time and it has time to produce it's own oils. I dont know if this is making sense, but those of us with very thick, curly hair know that our hair always looks better the day after its been washed.
So my advice would be to not straighten it... dry it with a diffuser that morning or the day before. Your stylist can always straighten it once you get there if thats the style you are looking for. Follow your gut, no one knows your hair better than you tell her EXACTLY what you want and what you dont want.

I have the SAME EXACT type of hair....She will use the appropriate products to make your hair have texture., Dont worry about it at all.....who are you trialing with?

I had mine blown out BUT did not use an iron the day before my wedding... my curls held great. Check out my album if you want to see pics.

My hair definitely holds better if it's washed the night before. Then I put it in a tight bun so there's a nice wave. I prefer to straighten so the front/top looks nice. I would also bring pics of what you like!
