We cut costs by:

* No OOT welcome baskets (they cause too much grief, stress, frustration, anger with their unreasonable, high maintenance demands, threats)

* No cake knife with server (our reception site provided one for us anyway)

Check out Duet for Photography. You can really cut cost and still get great pics.

I used Burtons for flowers and they gave me a great price but i actually heard of Jack and Rose being cheaper and they do great work to.

Consider having a small bridal party. I'm only having an MOH and BM, which means less money on gifts, flowers, etc.

Also, my reception site suggested no centerpieces...We're going to buy bags of fresh rose petals, scatter them on the tables and use lots of votive candles.

I second Duet, their main package is $3000 for photo and video, you get two photographers all day--one traditional, one photojournalist--albums included, etc. Everyone I've heard of has gotten tons of proofs.

Check out bridesave.com for dress, shoes, etc. I saw my dress on there for $300 less after I ordered it in a shop...same with my shoes--they were half price!!

Good luck. Don't stress. I just got engaged in September and I'm getting married in Feb. It can be done! (BTW, have you considered getting married before April or after October? They're slow months for vendors and ours have been very accomodating because we're getting married off season)
