HELLO I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO MY DAD DOES NOT WANT TO WEAR A TUX FOR MY WEDDING! HE WILL BE WALKING ME DOWN THE ASLIE BUT HE WANTS TO WEAR HIS BLUE SUIT HE HAS!! IS THIS OK??? HE WOULD BE THE ONLY ONE IN BLUE! PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW I CAN HANDLE THIS!NOT SURE IF IT WOULD BE OK FOR HIM TO WEAR A SUIT INSTEAD? THANK YOU POOHBEAR

Not to make light of your sitiuation, but when I read your post I immediately thought of the movie Father of the Bride when he wanted to wear his old tux and then wore a blue tux.
But seriously, if it is that important to you, sit him down and tell him how much it means to you. Tell him that he is going to be in a lot of pictures and really needs to be dressed up. Is he serious or could he be just busting your chops? When I was getting married, my father in law gept telling me he was wearing his work pants and boots. It got to a point where I thought he was serious!! I hope everything works out!!

IMO, Let him wear what he is comfortable in. There is no rule about whether your father should wear a tux or not. If you are going to be really upset if he does not, then sit him down and ask him nicely to wear one and explain how genuinely important it is to you. If you are freaking out just because you think that he 'should' wear one, then I think you need to asses your fathers needs and allow him to be comfortable.

My dad died in '94 --- he could have worn whatever he wanted and I would not have cared as long as he was there. Let him be comfortable and happy.
