Help!! Did/Is anyone have this problem?

My FH and I found a beautiful reception hall that we both really liked and the price quoted was outrageous and totally within our terms. We saw a couple and I knew when I walked in there that the place was meant for me!!

However, a friend of my FH recommend a place in the mountains TWO HOURS from the City and the ceremony cite that we are using. His friend made this place seem like a dream and he also said he could get us a 'good deal' because he knows the owner (we'd have to do it as a destination wedding, guests stay overnight). It sounded good, in theory, at first, and I was ok with the idea until I started thinking about pros and cons. There are a lot of cons. Guests with children will need to pay a sitter overnight, out of town guests will have to make accomodations to fly in and stay in at least two different places or fly in to the nearest airport to the site. I also started thinking about vendors and how much extra it will cost for them to travel the distance or worse have to book vendors up in the area and travel up there on a continual basis to pay for the site, vendors, the list of concerns is endless! My question is how can I go about convincing my FH that while this sounds like fun, it really is going to be quite a hassle. Did any of you ladies face a FH so gung ho about a place that you haven't even seen????

Maybe take the trip up there to see if its worth it... but definetly go over all the pros and cons of having your wedding so far away...

What hall around here did you love? Just curious :)

Good luck!

Goingnutty....it was a reception hall in Jersey actually. Not too far from NYC. About 20 to 30 minutes from ceremony cite depending on traffic.
