i just got my ring reset and i LOVE IT!!! simple white gold band... princess cut!!
soooo my last setting was a thin thin band and this one is wider..and i just got it yesterday!! and its perfect..
but today i was looking and i already have 'dings'--is this normal for 14k gold??
i am so paranoid. and i use my hands alot for work and..... i got it reset wider so i wouldnt worry so much about ruining it and now i am already dingy!!
is this normal or am i being reallllllllly anal?? ( its not like dents but kinda scratches/dings)
tell me to shut it okay??arghs!!

I don't have any dings on my rings, but the bottom looks a little bit scratched because I bang it so much

are they just scratches, or deep gashes? unfortunately, it is so easy to scratch any ring.

they are more like scratches....
i am honestly not bridezilla about much except my ring.. i have never had 'real' jewelry before and it kills me that after one day i already have scratches!!
so the jewler doesnt suck right? its just me and my man clumsy hands?? lol
what can be done about scratches? do they redip them or something?
sorry bout my ranting..just want not to examine my ring nonstop and worry about ruining it :)

I have platnium and I have scratches, it's not as hard as gold... just get it buffed at the jeweler every once in a while and it will be fine. My jeweler said it's normal for that to happen.

i hate that i am soo neurotic about this..you wouldnt be able to see it unless i made you stare at it under a light..but I know... shoot me now and put me out of my obsessive compulsive delirium!! teehee

I had a 14K gold ring (not my e-ring) that I would wear to the gym all the time and it got all bent out of shape on the bottom from the hand weights.

i have the same thing. mine is 18k white and it is scratched too. not alot, i cant explain it.

I have 18 karat white gold too and I had a jeweler buff out the bottom/underside - this caused it to turn a little yellowish, so I'll never buff it out again. I have a few scratches, mostly on the underside again.

I have 14 k gold too and there are scratches from work. I stopped wearing it at work because i don't want to ruin it. I might get a fake one just for work.
