I am desperate need of help and figured you guys would have some suggestions.
Okay...so we are planning our engagement party and since my FH proposed in New York City, I wanted to send out an invitation with a city skyline. I saw a very pretty one with the skyline and the silohette of a couple but it's SOOO expensive almost $3 per invitation!
anyone have any thoughts? suggestions? or know where I could find something like this???

i would check ebay.
Just type in party invites. Some people there will make whatever u want at a much cheaper price if u just send them a pic of what u want.

try vistaprint they are always running different promotions, once you sign up with them, you constantly get emails for different promotions going on

My friend does awesome invites and I bet she could do it for $1.25 or less. Her website is twolittleduckies.com
She custom makes each invite...so you likely wont see what you want on there...but definately email her ([email protected]). She is very quick and reasonably priced. And she's local

Try Galeria on 109. I think they have a website but they keep more books and options at the store. All sorts of price ranges and they seem to know their stuff. Tell them Kimberly and Freddie sent you.
On vista print you can make postcards have the front background of the city then u can put your pics if you want and then the back write the info. I have them for save the dates i actully got them for free from vist print you just have to pay shipping

You can change anything you want including the pic. and on the other side write out the party info let me know if you like it

i made my invites on vista print. they have tons of stock images to use - i am sure they have the skyline.
if you dont like their invites, look also at postcards or giant postcards.
we used giant postcards and we bought the envelopes that went with it.
they came out very nice. only negative was that the paper was a bit weak, so the egdges got smushed on some cards from the post office.

We made our own invites. If you can get the stationary that you want, than you can print them yourself and than print address labels. We saved a whole lot of money doing it this way. You can try Michaels, Cedarhurst Paper, Papyrus in Roosevelt field, or even order them online.

thanks to all. you guys are freakin' awesome! :) I decided to totally cheat, now lets just pray it works. I ordered a blank sample of the 'expensive' invite and I'm going to scan the image and then use vistaprint to create the invites and add a little glitter for finishing touches.....is that bad????
