HELP FI IS BEING DIFFICULT. HE WANTS HIS CLOSE FRIEND TO MARRY US BUT IN ORDER TO DO THIS

We would have to get married legitimately by whomever (paster, justice of the piece, etc.), the day before or that morning before the actual wedding at the Hall. Because he is not ordained or anything...but he would preside over the ceremony at the hall (because we will already be married).

In other words I will be married already when I attend the 'real' ceremony.

I feel like it takes away from the whole idea of this wedding we have been planning for close to two years.

What do you think am I being selfish, should I compromise. He really wants this but I don't know.

Can he 'share' the ceremony duties with whoever is ordained?

FH and I are different religions and my pastor is coming to the Church to share the ceremony celebration.

Hope that makes sense.

You'll be under too much stress (I think) to have two ceremonies

Actually, I looked into this because FH wanted his friend to marry up. Your friend can go down to town hall and for $25 they will allow him to be sort of an honorary officiant for the day and he can actually, legally marry you on your wedding day. Call town hall and check into it. I had found the info a while back on a website.

If this friend is not ordained then why does your FI want him to marry you? Maybe you could giv ehime something else that is special in the wedding, like a reading or something.

You friend can give you a legal marriage, if he becomes able to marry epople. FM yabbobay, her firend married her, and she also did what was fiqured and is able to marry epople also.

I'll be married before Im married.
I think my ceremony next year is my celebration time.... friends and family and the 'moment'

I don't think it takes away. Good luck though, I can understand how tough this must be.
