Help finding the right reception place....
Hi,I'm currently looking at places to have my reception in oct./nov. of 2007. What I'm looking for might leave me out of luck, but I need to ask because I'm having a hard time finding what I'm looking for. Are there any places on the island that have a rustic, alpiney, cozy look to them? It would have to be indoors and that could accommodate around 150 people. I spoke with someone from Raphael Vineyard, but they were basically asking me to take out a loan to pay for it. It was very disappointing because that is the ideal look that I want. I guess a second question would be are all the vineyards really expensive? If anyone can help me with this stuff, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!!
Kate

I was just going to say the Old Field Club too. The Riviera has darker type wood in it too and the Fox Hollow is warm and it reminds me of woodsey a little bit but that might be because they have that Fox logo.As for the Vineyards, I have heard that Raphaels is the most expensive but I also heard that you can bargain them down with that site fee so if that is something you really want, try to negotiate with them. Good luck!!

Fox Hollow, or the Milleridge, but the Milleridge is more colonial - Fox Follow reminds me of fireplaces. I think you'd like it.

I thought The Riviera's ballroom had that look because it's all wood.

My FH and I looked at most vineyards because we knew that's where we wanted our wedding. Most of them are expensive because you have to pay a fee to rent the vineyard in addition to getting the caterer, tables, chairs, tents, etc. It was going to cost a small fortune. Raphael was our first choice too! We went to the Vineyard Caterers and fell in love with it. And they only do one wedding at a time which I love. I don't know that it is the look you are going for, but it couldn't hurt to check them out. You can FM me for specific info if you like!Good luck

I agree...we started out looking at Vineyards and I had my heart set on Raphael. Unfortunately, that site fee...especially in October...is crazy! We also looked at Vineyard caterers and loved it. We ultimately went with another place, but you should definetely check out Vineyard caterers! Good luck

The Woodlands! It's a mansion that sits on the Oyster Bay Golf Course, very rustic with a lot of character. Lots of dark wood, fireplaces, and beautiful grounds for pictures.

FH and I booked the Fox Hollow because it had that exact feel to it so you might want to check that out. We're having about 130 people and got an excellent price (though we booked offseason and that always makes a difference)
