Help finding vendors

Help finding vendors

Hi,

I have recently gotten engaged and am planning for an October 2007 wedding.
I am from out of town and would need lots of help finding reasonably priced vendors (ie. DJs and Photographers).

Thanks!

Thanks. I guess because I don't know any of these vendors at all, I can't really gage it only on price.
Do you know any good photographers?

Re: Help finding vendors

Check out the vendors list on this site... they have long lists for each of the categories... then i choose who to check out based on location (i was too lazy to drive super far . You can also search the brides review board and this entire sitght to see various opinions on these vendors... good luck!

Re: Help finding vendors

I am using commack florist for my flowers.. I got such a great deal compared to what alot of these vendors are charging on li weddings... I would suggest to contact and meet wtih the vendors on craigslist for photography.. thats what I did for my vendors..

If you need any other info on good deals FM me.. I can help you out.. I am also on a limited budget. (have no parental support in this wedding for $$)

Re: Help finding vendors

We just started by checking reviews on the vendors recommended by our hall, figuring that if they're recommended then it has to be a good place to start.

Honestly, all the major vendors we have booked so far have been on the hall's list.

The search function on these message boards is a great way to get feedback.

Re: Help finding vendors

Some my vendors are LIW vendors and I would highly recommend the following vendors I used:

- Photographers: Right Angle Studios
- Florist: Verbena Designs.

I suggest looking through the Bride Review board to get ideas and see what brides have to say about their vendors on their wedding day.

There is a difference between an initial hiring of someone and see them in action on your wedding day.

Duet seems to be a favorite on this board for photo/video. You can do a search on the different vendors. You may be get better feedback once you did some preliminary research first and then come on here and ask the LIW girls questions about their experiences.

Re: Help finding vendors

The best advice I can give you is to go on the BRIDES REVIEW boards. This way you will see the experiences from brides who have used and completed the services with vendors. Many people also include pictures with their review so you can see some things like the photography and flowers. Also FM brides if you have any questions or need clarrification. I have heard some brides-to-be recommend vendors they have booked prior to their wedding, but seeing a satisfied customer after the wedding speaks volumes more because they used it and seen the product to completion. Good luck and happy planning!

ETA: Also while I surely understand to take into an account the price...my wedding was on an incredibly strict budget...price should not be the reason you book someone. Make sure you check out all vendors completely.
