My dad has been asking me if he needs to wear a tux, and to be honest with you, it really doesn't matter to me. I told him that if he wants to wear a suit, that I think he should buy a new one and he was fine with that. But when I told some of my BM's that he wasn't going to wear a tux, they thought I was crazy!!! Now, I am having a daytime wedding, so it is more casual, but the bridal party will be wearing tuxes.
I say that if the bridal party is wearing tuxes, then dad should too. I have found that during this planning thing, that you cannot leave decisions up to other people. Either they go OVERBOARD and make TOO many decisions or they are completely lost and cannot make a decision at all. SO I would decide FOR your father, whatever it may be that you are choosing. Personally, I say tux.

I say it doesn't matter. There are tons of tuxes that look exactly like suits anyways. Have him wear what makes you and him the most comfortable.
I talked to FH about it and we decided we wanted our fathers both to wear tuxes. Only b/c mine is obviously walking me down and aisle and we decided that FH parents are going to walk him down the aisle before the ceremony starts. It's up to you though. If he is not going to be comfortable in a tux, then there are plenty of black suits that look exactly like tuxes.
Does that mean I my dad wears a tux that FI dad has to wear a tux too? I am so confused!!
I would personally say yes to both fathers wearing a tux
