Hi! My friend is getting married and wants a reception hall that is not a typical catering hall. She likes a rustic type theme, and she hates carpets. Her FH wants a catering hall but she want's something out of the ordinary. Any catering halls that would be a good compromise that I can suggest for her? Thanks in advance!

I think Riviera in Massapequa has that nice rustic, all wood look to it, and it's also still a beautiful catering hall.
Good luck to your friend!

My sister before settling on the Maritime Museum looked at a barn type location out east. I remember her loving it and from what I saw of the pictures it looked really nice. I'm not sure why she chose where she did but if you would like I can ask her the name and all that stuff.

I originally wanted the rustic theme but I was having a hard time finding a place that I liked. I chose the Royalton since it's a beautiful mansion with a very homey feel. My FH husband hates carpets too and there is no carpet in sight here! Also, I would tell her to check out The Old Field Club and Three Village Inn. Both are very rustic!

Agreed! We are having our wedding at Riviera and that's exactly what we wanted. Rustic, private yet catering hall like. If you call, ask for Vicky or Mary - they are great!

I echo The Riviera recommendation. But I may be a bit biased...

Three Village inn is gorgeous although on the small side, def not a typical place and the entire room is hardwood floor. Also Timber Point CC, although less rustic, it's more of a country club feel than a typical hall. And they just got new hardwood floors too.

The Milleridge Cottage!!!! One wedding at a time, has all hardwood flooring, has a beautiful atrium for cocktail hour, and literally has the best food I have ever had at a wedding (which is why i picked it!!)
She should check it out because this place seems like the perfect fit based on her theme
