Help for a Long Distance Bride To Be!!
I live in LA, California and planned my wedding long distance also. The Wedding pages magazine helped a lot and the girls on this site were great. I found my reception place through someone on here. If you need anything you can email me. [email protected]. I called a bunch of places and saw a lot. We went to NY last August to pick our place, for our 5/27/00 wedding.
My suggestio, get all your stuff together and make a trip to see all the places. I had to see the place before I booked them. Planning long distance was not that difficult, once I saw the places. But towards the end it's hard becuase you just want to go and confirm everything and you can't it was kinda lonely for me to be away from the family at that exciting time to. Good luck and let me know if you need help
I would love the name and number of the Irish step dancers. You can email me at [email protected] if you like.

Help for a Long Distance Bride To Be!! (LONG)
I got my dress in California, it's easier to deal with, for all the alterations. Although my Bridal shop went out of business before I actually picked up the dress, I'm sure it would have been easier. After I purchased another dress, I brought it on the plane with us and got it steamed at Z French Cleaners in Smithtown, 2 days before the wedding.
If you are thinking of doing the invitations yourself, and if you live in LA, there's a place in Beverly Hills called Party On LaCienga, I bought all my paper there and made my invitations.
The website mentioned in the previous post is good. If you want to find out about things to do, also check out the lonelyplanet website. I found it very helpful.
