Help for the floral-ly challenged!

Help! Need suggestions!!

Our wedding is in November, I'll be in ivory and BMs in olive green. Anyone have any suggestions for flowers? No theme really-a few Irish touches here and there-but nothing that I feel we need to incorporate into our flowers. I really like the whole fall look-vibrant harvesty colored flowers, grasses, etc.

The florists we've met with have not been very helpful (IMO) in terms of creativity. Most start off with-so, what do you want? I haven't seen anything yet that jumps out at me.

Anyplace that I've lived with garden space, I've always grown flowers, but they tended to be wildflower mixes, sunflowers, climbing vines-very haphazard. I'm having trouble pulling everything together!

We're trying to keep this all under about $ 2000-$2500.

Any ideas, ladies?

Re: Help for the floral-ly challenged!

I've having a fall wedding and using red roses and dalhias, and hydrangeas. All these flowers come in different colors.

With your color dress, I would suggest, yellows, oranges, and reds. You could use sunflowers in that. There are some pics of boquets with sunflowers on the knot.com

Re: Help for the floral-ly challenged!

be careful with sunflowers! these are my absolut favorite flowers and I was going to incorporate them into my wedding but I have learned, they wilt quickly once out of water!
Also, if you don't get them in their seasonal time, June-August, they are more expensive because your florist will have to import them.

Re: Help for the floral-ly challenged!

Sorry but I don't know exact name of flowers. I am bringing pics to Burton's like they had said to show them what I like. Hope this helps.

Re: Help for the floral-ly challenged!

Since your BM dresses are olive green, I would probably try to keep their bouquets low key and a solid color.

Re: Help for the floral-ly challenged!

I would definitely recommend going to see John at Flower Michelle in Huntington. I'm pretty florally challenged myself and I met with him over the weekend. He had some great ideas and we came up with beautiful combinations. He suggested things I never would have thought of that looked just beautiful. Definitely go see him, he's one of the most highly rated florist on this board also!

Check our romanticflowers.com
You can also do a search on bouquets --> there's been a bunch of posts that included tons of photos.

Good luck
