Ok..I ordered my dress last Feb from Bridal Suite in Patchogue (before I saw all the negative posts). I was told that my dress will arrive in August...Fast forward to August..no dress. Bridal Suite tells me it will be in September..Sept no dress..they then say October..October no dress...so now I am getting a little ****y with them, they assure me up and down it will be in soon..November no dress, then they said Thanksgiving...still no dress, then they said December...So I finally get a call last week that the dress is in!!! Yea I was so excited!! I make an appt for dec 26 to go visit the dress & pay the balance.....Today I get a call that the dress is the WRONG dress......They called the designer and they are rushing a new one out and it should get here by the 3rd week in January. But how am I suppose to believe this????? I mean the dress is originally 5 months late so how am I to believe it will get made and here in just 4 weeks??? What should I do? Wait it out and see? Go to another store and find another dress? My wedding is April 5th so I only have a little over 3 months..HELP.

Call the designer IMMEDIATELY and verify this yourself !!!!!!
If they've been so bad at this (I'm sure THEY ordered the wrong dress. .. ) I dont know if I would trust them again, especially w/your wedding so close.
I'm so sorry, but I saw a post someone said their dress arrived in a couple weeks, maybe you should go their instead, I'll do search and try and see if I could find it for you.

OH MY! Something sure sounds a little fishy! However, I was told that a dress only takes long if they have to make it from scratch. If your size is in stock, it should be shipped right away. That's what I was told anyway! Gee, I dont' know how to help you! I wouldn't say go order it at another place, because you never really know! ya know??? I'm sure another person will have better advice. Again, I'm sorry to hear this!
What I don't understand is how AFTER you made your fitting appointment did they realize it's the wrong dress! I'd hate to see you lose money, but maybe another bridal shop might be best! Bridal Suite of Bay Shore, I HEARD wonderful things about that one!!! Very sweet ladies there! Good luck!
Stay positive, everything will work out!! And you'll look beautiful!

Re: Help! freaking out...re: dress
if possible, cancel your order with them and get the dress 'rushed' from another bridal place...but i agree with lizlen, the first thing to do is call the manufacturer/designer and verify that the order was indeed placed....im so sorry you have to go through this but do NOT stress, everything will be fine....i ordered my dress 4 months before the wedding and it was in after 2 months....

Call the designer!!! How much have you paid these people? You might want to order your gown from other place and cancel your payment on your credit card for non-service.

I don't have my receipt here but I believe my deposit was approx $500 or so. My mom suggested giving them until Jan 15 if it isn't in then take the sample with a HUGE disount and have them clean it. What do you think of that? I don't know about it bc I don't think I will be happy with the sample

I bought my dress off the rack at Lillettes. I don't know your size, but if the dress in the store is your size, they might sell it to you, instead of making you wait.
It might be worth a shot

Re: Help! freaking out...re: dress
i would take the sample only if it was offered at a tiny fraction of the price and if they cleaned it so that it was in pristine condition....if you do decide to do that, have them put everything in writing...but you still have time to cancel with them and order from another place....i think you're better off doing that...

I don't really have a solution for you, but have they offered you any explanation as to why it took so long for the dress to get there in the first place? If I were you, I'd go look at the dress that was delivered instead, maybe you'll like it?

Re: Help! freaking out...re: dress
I think in the meantime you should not onlycall the manufacturer but also visit another bridal shop and ask how long it would take to order this dress. If they say it can be done you may wnat to consider that. I don;t think you wnat to take the chance in waiting any longer. If they claim the correct dress could be here in 2 weeks then another shop should be able to as well. The sample is a good idea but I think you want to have other options should something else go wrong. These people have given you no reason to trust them.

Re: Help! freaking out...re: dress
Well I think if you go to another shop then you are just going to be starting from scratch all over again and you could run into problems there as well. I would try to talk to the manager to see why the first dress took so long and then talk to the manufacturer to make sure the next one will be there on time. Best of luck to you, I'm so sorry you have to go through this.

this place sounds like a total nightmare!!!!!!!
call the designer immediately and ask them where the dress is, when it was ordered by the bridal shop etc.

Re: Help! freaking out...re: dress
What jerks! Don't stress, it will be okay. you have time!! My wedding is April 13, and i just ordered my dress last week!
This JMO, but i think you should do this: Like everyone else recommended, call the manufacturer tomorrow! find out about ordering and timing issues, double check that the new order was placed if you can, AND also find out if there are any other AUTHORIZED dealers in the area. I need to tell you, Bridal Suite in Centereach is awesome - so if they have the same dress, definitely go there (ask for Debbie).
Since your Bridal Suite essentially just ordered the dress, it is just like another store ordering it now too. so if you can find it somewhere else that is more reputable i would do that (right away). But make sure you can get your deposit back first. I would not just wait until Jan. to see what happens. but i would wait to get a sample dress. if you are going to do that, you can do that much closer to your date. so don't feel pressure to get a sample right now. just focus on the dress that you do want and see if you can get it somewhere else. But don't worry because you have time!!!!
what was the manufacturer?

Re: Help! freaking out...re: dress
The manufacturer is Casablanca bridal...which I have found only in Patchogue Bridal Suite..I went to Debbie at Centereach Bridal Suite first, she was wonderful but she couldn't get the dress. I am going to call the manufacturer tomorrow and see what they say. Patchogue assures me again that it will be here...that Casablanca messed up and that they are making the dress as we speak and they will have it done in 3 weeks...so hopefully this story pans out. I really want to go nuts on Patchogue Bridal Suite but I am affraid they will just screw me even more! I also ordered my BM dresses from them and would hate to start a war until those are safe and sound with my girls! Thanks for all the advice...hopefully this story will have a happy ending.

Re: Help! freaking out...re: dress
just to let you know, do not be nervous about dealing with them or not saying anything untill you get you BM's dresses....They should be afraid of you posting on here about that nightmare of a place for all to see

Re: Help! freaking out...re: dress
Jenn said EXACTLY what I was going to say!! As Marnles told me about when she fought w/a vendor. She told them the internet is a great tool! You can tell them that you can make sure hundreds of brides know how horribley they treated you. And the saying does go 'The customer is ALWAYS right!!' Definatley tell the biggest head person at the dress manufacturer whats going on. They might put a light at the end of this tunnel!! GOOD LUCK!!!

Re: Help! freaking out...re: dress
Hey just wanted to let you know that the SAME THING happened to me! I got a refund from the original store and ordered my dress from another place and it was in the store EXACTLY one month after I ordered it. I do suggest calling and making sure that they are not lying to you.
