HELP!!! Hair & Make-Up DISASTER!!

After months of smooth planning something major has finally gone wrong! So I had quite a hard time finding a hair/make-up person b/c I wanted someone really talented. I do my own make-up really well and wanted an artist who was capable of doing it even better for my big day. I thought I'd found that in a vendor that is really well known on these boards. She does both hair and make-up and I was quite happy with my first trial with her. I wanted a second trial however for another hair style b/c the first hair style didn't look good on me (although she did it exactly like I asked for). So I called up to schedule a second trial and after only having an appt weeks away (which I took) her assistant calls me at the last minute to reschedule b/c an important engagement has come up. Mind you I paid a LOT for the trials so it wasn't like they were free. I said fine. Then she rescheduled again...and again...AND AGAIN!!! After the 3rd rescheduling I flipped out and sent an email at how that was just an unacceptable way to conduct a business, but when they did it the forth time, that was it! I told her that I can't trust the most important day of my life to someone that incompetant. I mean if she can't even get her life and business schedule in order how can I possibly trust her to be my first appointment on my wedding day?

So now I'm 3 1/2 months away from my wedding with no hair or make-up artist. I think I'm just gonna do my own make-up, but I need a hair stylist b/c I don't do up-dos well at all. Any suggestions ladies? PLEASE?

Ugh, that is terrible!!! I am so sorry. I am using Sabrina from Fresh Face Forward for hair. I am also using Stacey from the same company for makeup, just in case you wanted someone for makeup. They came on time for the trial and did a great job! Good luck!!!

I used a mac makeup artist named Jenn Tomeo for my makeup and my regualr salon for hair...FM if you want info!

Oh man I am so sorry.. I am pretty sure I know who you are using and I am using that person too. I scheduled a second trial for the end of this month and they just emailed me to reschedule it in August

Any idea why they keep rescheduling on you?? That is not good at all

I would recommend my person is she isnt booked already - Sachiko is great.

i'm using the Pedala sisters and love them. They are a bit pricey though, but def. look into them.

Roseanna Amador is so wonderful. She just did the hair for the model on the cover of Bride magazine!

I think she's trying to build up her other make-up/hair business, but it's so unprofessional to keep cancelling your other appointments. I don't know if we have the same person, but I'm still fuming over the entire experience. Because if this idiot's COMPLETE INCOMPETENCE I'm 3 months away from my wedding and without a hair stylist!

I used Jacqueline Nicole for Makeup, and hair sculpting by Renee. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the both of them! They are both DEPENDABLE, AFFORDABLE, and TALENTED!!! I couldn't have been happier. FM me if you want more info :O)

There are TONS of good make-up artists and hair people that aren't vendors on here. And most of the time they are a lot cheaper. I would check the hair salon you normally use or ones in your area. Also for make-up you can go to the counters in the mall and I think a lot of those women who do make-up there do it on the side as well.
Good luck with your search, I had my hair girl cancel on me three months before the wedding too and I was freaking out. But I found someone in no time, who is a lot cheaper and she did my trial right away.

I was in a jam for my wedding 2 weeks before and they were AMAZING!!!! My makeup artist is Alisha Rodgers and she was FANTASTIC too!! They all worked soooo great together and every girl looked prettier than the next!

Kacey and Zorida are both fantastic. They did my friend's entire BP for her wedding in January. Along with doing good hair & makeup, they were also really friendly and fun.

I'm really sorry...you KNOW that I'm sorry that this is happening to you, and is probably my fault I wish I could help, but the only other hair stylist I went to was at a Cactus salon and I wouldn't recommend them because it wasn't that good.

OMG, Don't you dare feel guilty about this! LOL This is not your fault! I was praising her myself after my first trial. She really is talented. She's just unreliable and irresponsible. I just can't believe how badly things turned afterward, but there's nothing that you could do. I think she just really doesn't know how to run a business and it's too bad b/c she's ruining her reputation...I'll never recommend her, that's for sure. I mean, I won't say her name on here, but I certainly won't endorse her either.
