HELP! Have a hotel question

How many nights do you block for OOT guests? Just the night of the wedding? Or the night before and the night of the wedding?

Usually just the wedding night. If you have a lot of OOT guests coming, then I would do the night before and the night of.

we lucked out cause we're marrying at a time of year that ppl don't vacation much in NY. so they are giving us as many days that are necessary for our guests. on avg. ppl are taking about 2-3 days at the hotel.

We blocked the day before and the day of. We only blocked a small amount of rooms for the day before though because we figured it would mainly be people from the BP.

just the night of. We're booking rooms just the family for the night b4, but I think everyone else is on their own if they come a day or so early.

Defiantely judge by how many OOT guests you have and where they are coming from...it looks like your wedding is a Sunday afternoon and if you have people coming from more than a few hours away I'd assume that maybe they'd travel on Saturday...also remember any OOT bridal party will also need rooms if you are doing your rehearsal.rehearsal dinner the night before...

And also it's not like you have to pay for them if they don't get booked so why not block for two nights and see what happens?

I am doing two days. Only because fh's sister is hosting a out of towners/family gathering the day before if people want to show up for it.

Thanks everyone!
My dilemma is that the two major hotel happen to be completely full on the night before the wedding. So now I am trying to figure out how to do this 'properly'

Same here. Make sure to keep checking in with the hotel and adding on rooms if your block is getting filled up.

I only blocked the night of the wedding. Nobody complained or had any problems.
