Help - Hotel Questionaire (spelled wrong probably)
Okay I had my STD's sent out in March and I had rooms booked off all ready at the only hotel offering a shuttle at the time to CLM. The hotel was far away but figured its a shuttle and free who cares.
Holiday Inn - It includes breakfast, has indoor pool and gym but there is nothing around the hotel to do and its about 16 miles away from CLM.
Well I have no clue what to do now because my mom is not liking the idea of having the hotel so far so I got a estimate for another hotel
Marriot - closer by but its more expensive - has no free breakfast - no indoor pool, but the shuttle is free. Tons of stuff to do around the hotel.
SO what the hell do i do??? I was thinking I can send a ballot out to all the out of town guests. A simple card with a explaination and then a reply card with a post card stamp on it to be mailed back. They can mail it back or call me or email me. Problem is - IS THIS TACKY???
This is what I came up with. The lines show the cut off of the card. The left side of the page is the front and back of one card and the right side is the reply card.

I've always heard it's good to do as many hotels as you can...some people may want to spend more money and be closer and others may be more budget worried...
Personally - we're blocking rooms at one hotel - the mid range one, but on our website, we have 3 listed with ratings - Expensive, Moderate & Budget...this way they can all make their own decisions..

I always have complications IoI See I gave var. hotels in the area out with the STD's along with the blocked one. Problem with me blocking another hotel is we only have 20 OOT and i do not think all of them are showing so I can block 2 hotels at a guarantee of 10 rooms per hotel.

The room block price in our case is only like a $10 dollar difference...so we're blocking with just the one & if people want to go with the budget or expensive...then they can...

Its no tacky at all but it is confusing. Too wordy. You need to simplify. People are lazy & will read the first line & toss it or stick it on their fridge & never read it again until its time to book a hotel. Also, I wouldn't count on people to mail this back. They hardly send RSVPs.
What about sending out a little postcard that says ' as a follow up to our Save The Date, rooms have also been reserved at ___________ for $______ a night. This hotel has just opened & is closer to the RH. Call them at _____ See you in March!
PS - Check the last sentence in the first paragraph of your mailing: closure' and change to 'closer.'

Do whatever works for you honestly....are you staying with them? If not then it really dosen't matter and you can give them the choice although you probably don't want people driving period...I would say go with the shuttle.....it'll be cheaper in the longrun because then you don't have to worry about cab fare or renting a coach bus.

Great, except that I picked up on a small typo...I just thought you might want to know. I am not sure if these were your finals or not

See my mom started this because my uncle has all ready complain that the hotel was too far away and he was not using the shuttle bus so he was going somewhere else to stay. So she wanted me to change the hotel.
THANK YOU all for the help. Yea I picked up a few type o's and fh did the same so all said and done i printed htem out real fast, got some stamps and get back and realize this was pointless IoI
Fh was like we are switching and doing the closer one because he thinks we will stay at the same hotel and my mom all ready said she wants to do a breakfast the next morning after the wedding and she will do this down the street from the marriot. I am waiting final word from my mom and my FSIL.

I picked the Marriot. I think if you're having that many OOT guests you want them to be as close to the reception as possible to make it easy for them to get to even if they aren't using the free shuttle.
