How in the heckdo you choice a color for your bridesmaids dresses??? I can't decide at all. I an contemplating yellow , but haven't found a yellow I like. I am getting married in August, but at night, so I want it to be light but very elegant too...... I am SOOOO Confused.

since everything has been planned in 2 months, this might not help....but our first concern when we changed plans was getting invitations. When my FH saw the chocolate invites we thought they were perfect with ivory! I am wearing ivory. MOH is Chocolate Flowers have hints of pink

I decided on the colors I wanted for the wedding...red and silver. I found some great 'platinum' dresses, but by the time ordering time came around, they were discontinued...so I went with red. Figure out the flower colors you want (I knew I wanted red roses primarily)...that can help. Figure out the invitation colors/style you want, determine your hall's theme, decor and appearance. Figure out what you want....also, figure out which shade of white your dress will be and work from there.

that was one of the hardest decisions....I changed my mind a couple of times...I pretty much had the hall in mind... what colors would look best on my girls... favorite colors... Looked @ tons of magazines and reviews... from here @ the knot...& if you want all you extra items favors, ect to tie all together make sure there are colors out there to match... Originally I chose a cinnamon color and noticed that I was having a hard time tying it in will other things ~ if I wanted anything embroidered ect., ribbons, that kind of stuff...
My colors are Aqua/Tiffany Blue, Espresso/Chocolate Brown & White...

I decided on champagne dresses instead of yellow and they looked AWESOME!

i chose a color that goes with the season. summer
i was originally going to choose coral, then DH saw a bridal party in our color sky blue and said how beautiful it would look. So, we chose it and were so happy!!!!

I honestly went to a wedding about 5-years ago and the girls wore black dresses and carried red bright roses. I always said after that, it is exactly what I am going to do when one day I get married.
I think it is so dramatic and romantic looking

i was going for pink but i didnt see any shades of pink for bm dresses that i loved. when we went to try on dresses i actually feel in love with the sample dress color and thats is what i got it was taupe but inpics it looked pink
yellow is august i think would look amazing

I think I would have had a harder time choosing if my wedding was in the spring/summer months!
Since I have a winter wedding, I wanted to go with a darker color. Since it's in December, I chose red to incorporate the holidays. It was between red and platinum.
I was a BM in a friends wedding and we wore yellow. We got so many compliments. It wasn't the yellow she actually wanted (she had the dresses made and she wanted more of a buttery yellow and it was more big bird) but she got so many compliments on the dresses! They looked great on all of us and looked awesome in pics.
ETA: I'll try to find a pic. Her wedding was in August too.

Just picked a color I liked that i thought would look good with the season and skin tone of my girls.
winter i pic red and silver! Then i went w. snowflakes so i pic blue and silver.
so thats what we are doing a blue my alfred angelo in the color indigo! its sooo nice in person the site doesnt capture the color at all!

I based my colors on wine since we're getting married at the Vineyards....
my girls are wearing burgundy.
pick your fav color. or, pick your favorite flower and then pick a dress color that goes with it.

I know. I am going through the same thing. I fell in love with this burnt orange color but my wedding is in March and I am afraid it's too much of a fall color. What do you ladies think?
We are going to go dress shopping and when we find a dress-we'll pick a color. i'm a big let's throw it in a hat, or put it beyond your back and I'll pick which hand-these methods have served me well for 23 years and I am going to continue using them

What great suggestions! As a teacher I MUST have a theme (narotic I know) So I am going with a garden theme. But a very fancy garden since my dress is ultra fancy. I am also leaning toward green w/ a chocolate sash and yellow flowers. I think it will look good in the hall which kinda reminds me of a greenhouse because it is surrouneded by windows!

This is exactly what we decided. Black and red are my favorite colors. We chose our colors before our date. We heard from some family about BM wearing black for a spring wedding, but didn't care. If groomsmen don't wear pastel colors in the spring, why does it matter? You can check out my albums to see it. My BM thanked me for choosing black for them.

I think that color would be great. If you're worried that the dress might be too dark, give your girls bok's that have light colors that will compliment the dress. If you LOVE the color, GO FOR IT!!
daniebc16: I think your garden theme sounds lovely. You can also add some 'spark' to their dresses by switching up the colors in the bok's and making those flowers darker. Yellow is a nice color for summer, just mak sure the shade you choose comes out yellow in pictures (yellow can be a bit tricky at times on film).
