I'm doing a slipper basket and surprisingly having a hard time finding slippers for it. I was originally going to get the hotel/spa slippers, but I don't know now. I've seen people do the Chinese slippers and just don't know how I feel about them! At first I found them ugly, but I'll admit they are growing on me. I've never worn them before, are they comfortable? If I got them people could use them again where the hotel/spa ones are not for frequent use. I'm stumped!! Please help! TIA!

I agree... I used to have them in every color like 5 years ago and they always gave my feet a rash and weren't comfortable until you wore them in... I'd do regular flip flops

I like them, for slippers, bot neccesarily shoes. But you will be providing a bunch!
And as far as MHO on flip flops, is a lot of your guests will be wearing stockings, so flip flops won't work. Try my sister usa for slippers, they will give you a good deal.

Re: Help!! How do you feel about Chinese slippers?
i think it depends on ur wedding date - ur wedding is in august so it would be really cute to do flops... my wedding was december so i went with the chinese slippers. i PERSONALLY am not a fan of them...never wore 'em - BUT they are insanely comfy & my guests loved them. Every single pair went and whenever i see girls who attended my wedding they always mention how they still use them
ps: just something to think about ; with flops, what if people are wearing stockings/pantyhose???

I'm using chinese slippers for my slipper basket. My wedding is in October so most people will be wearing stockings and stockings+flip flops don't really work.

I think they're sooo comfortable! I've always loved them, esp. when I just want to run out quickly. I just wish I knew where to find some more

i would go with the chinese slippers - especially since many people that are wearing dresses are going to wear stocking with them - and if they are uncomfortable - then they will just take them off - but im sure more often than not - people will wear them and they will be just fine

I've thought of flip flops too,but the stocking thing is definitely a concern, I'd really like to get isotoners, but they are waaaaaaay too expensive!

Re: Help!! How do you feel about Chinese slippers?
I think Chinese Slippers are the best way to go. When they first came out, I always thought they were so ugly and didn't understand people wearing them as shoes. But then I tried a pair and found them to be super comfortable. I keep a pair in my drawer at work for when I want to get out of my heels, but not walk around barefoot or in socks. I also do think that Chinese slippers would blend in better with dresses.
But I'd say maybe try to do a mix and match for the slipper basket - like do some flip flops, some chinese slippers - this way people have a choice.

These are just slippers you are going to use for what? 3-4 hours, MAYBE?
Does it really matter if they are cute? lol
I mean , yes you want them to look nice, but i think those chinese slippers are decent looking and will get the job done. I just look at it as another expense you don't have to go crazy on. I am sure those will be just fine. :)

i pesonally don't care for them or flip flops either i'm not sure i'f i'm even going to do a slipper basket.... no matter how many you put in they are usually all gone in 10 min and a lot of women don't get them so i kinda think it's a waste but thats just my 2 cents

Don't do Chinese Slippers....nobody wears them anymore and they just look homely. I would do Flip Flops. Girls go nuts over those, especially if they wore the wrong pair of shoes to the wedding. Try not to get too cheap on those though or else people will get blisters from those as well. That's what happend to my sister last weekend!!!!

I love them. . . They are going out of style from what I have seen but they are so comfy and for people that can't wear flip flops it's a great alternative.

You're right, no one really wears them as shoes anymore, BUT for a 4hr reception, they seemed to be the most cost effective and they are comfy. I don't expect people to take home the slippers from my wedding and wear them as shoes. They will most likely throw them out anyway..

yeah so true, I don't expect everyone who takes a pair to wear them everyday after the wedding. From what I've seen they really are the cost effective way to go. Like I said before I don't love the look of them, but I've been to weddings before where I wish I had brought a pair of slippers and these would have done the trick for me. Thank you everyone for your very honest opinions, I love it!!
