I have blocked off hotels at one place but also on my info sheet want to include another possibllity for hotel even though i didn't reserve rooms there...
How would you phrase that?

hmmmm . . . .. how bout-
Hotel rooms are being held for guests at the marriot with a discounted rate. Rooms are also available at the nearby holiday inn.

I havent booked my rooms yet, but can't you try to reserve at the other place too? I thought the rule is that you dont have to pay anything and they just hold the slots and if they dont fill up a month prior to the event, they will release it to the public?

True, but the second place which i also like and am using word of mouth on has a cheaper on line rate than the group rate and their group rate is more expensive than the first place. So I just blocked at the cheaper place and then am letting people know there are other options.

This is something similar to my STD info sheet:
A Block of rooms has been set aside In each of the following hotels Hotel #1 info Hotel #2 info
Then on my website I also noted: You can join Christian & Christine Listed the hotel that we are staying in first then listed our second hotel after!
