For my wedding ceremony (which was at my mom's house) my mom made this Champagne Punch it was sooooo good! Everyone raved about it.
I know my uncle has a potent eggnog recipe, if you are interested let me know and I will post it for you.

How about Mulled Wine? I was at william & sonoma and found a tin of mulling spices it was about 8 dollars - but it will go a long way - (you can also use it to make mulled cider) - dh and I made this the other day - tastes a little like sangria in some ways - you just take red wine, sugar, and the mulled spices and heat them on the stove - you can then serve it with a cinnamon stick hot OR chill it and serve it over ice - it is easy and great for a party

How much sugar and spice do you put in?

There is a recipe on the tin - for 1L (1 Regular bottle of wine) you put in about 1/3 cup of sugar (it is to taste the directions say) and 2 tbs of the spices - then you simply put on the stove for about 20 mins - and either strain out the spices (unless you put the spices in cheese cloth or tea infuser

Unfortunately, I am still waiting on my uncle to respond to my email but I did find this Food Network Article that contains both alcoholic & non alcoholic holiday drinks.

I have the W&S mulling spices and made it with apple cider and rum for a Halloween party - it was great!
You can also make Sangria w/red wine, OJ, blackberry brandy, sugar and fruit slices.
Or Eggnog with rum and cinammon

What are the measurements for the eggnog drink?

We just had a Halloween party too and did the same thing. A few liters of apple cider, add the mulling spices, a few cinnamon sticks and a sliced up orange. simmer for a few hours. I added the rum slowly so that it didnt' overpower the cider (um, and so it wouldn't burn off ) Everyone loved it!!

I don't have any measurements for the eggnog, I usually do it to taste. Just pour eggnog in the blender, then add cinnamon (&/or nutmeg) and some white rum, blend and taste, then add more of anything you want. Sorry....
