Hey Girls..
I had a tooth extraction this morning at the oral surgeons. I had general anethesia and the whole thing.
My ba$tard tooth had 5 roots instead of 2.
Needless to say, i'm REALLY in pain now that the meds have worn off.
I took the Tylenol with codeine that they gave me and I'm using the icepack, but it's not helping.
It's so bad that I'm in tears. What can I do to make it feel better !?!?

UGH, I'm so sorry. Call the oral surgeon and tell him the codeine isn't working. When I had my wisdom teeth pulled the Vicoden didn't help so my mother called the oral surgeon. He said I could take 2 advils in addition to the Vicoden.

they didnt give you anything stronger???!!!
WHAT A *******!!
My OS gave me Vicoden ES.
Just give it time and the pain will go away. Can you get ice pops or something cold?

i swear...my nurse recommended this to me and I was so glad...it gets something in your stomach and it is cooling for your tooth...

I don't think the fribble would do well with my diet. I wish I could though, that sounds good.
I took another tylenol with codeine... if that doesnt work in an hour im going to take 2 advils.. and if that doesn't work after another hour I'm going to call back.
Yeah, I'll just drug myself all up. Hmm on second thought, I'll get the advils now.

Definitely call your doctor and have him phone in a prescription for vicodine. You need the goods for this!

Does anyone know what the generic name for Vicadin is?
Before I went to the oral surgeon my dentist prescribed me something for pain.. I thought it was a V.. but of course CVS gave me the generic version...

I think ithe Vicoden generic is called Hydrocap something. I don't know the whole name.

It could be anything. There are so many generic versions.

I did a little research, and it seems that I do have the generic version from my other doctor.
Now that I have 2 tylenol with codeine's and 2 advils in my system, I think I'll wait a while to see if it gets better before trying the other stuff.
I'm going to get a low carb ice cream bar and try to forget about it.... (yeah right)

I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled last Friday and I would have died without Vicodin ES, they definitely should have gave that to you!!! Feel better

Vicodin's generic is just: Hydrocodone/ Acetaminophen

But don't drink it with a straw! The suction you create could dislodge the blood clot that formed in the tooth socket!
I had all of my wisdom teeth taken out back in high school. The oral surgeon prescribed valium, and it worked wonders.

This isnt even a wisdom tooth. I had my general dentist pull 2 of my wisdom tooth in the office with just local anesthesia (sp?). That was nothing close to this pain!
This was the tooth right in front of the wisdom tooth... I've been dealing with it for a month now. First it was a cavity.. then so much decay they went for a medicinal filling... then they removed that and put in a regular filling... which made it real bad so they wanted to do root canal.
Turned out that my roots were so curved that they couldnt do root canal... and too curved to get it pulled easily.... My roots were in a S shape! (and today I find out that there are(were) 5 of them!)
I should have asked if I could have kept the tooth, so I could be slamming it with a hammer right now.

Thanks Yabbobay.. the sugar content would probably make Dr Atkins roll over in his grave!
I did have a lowcarb Klondike ice cream bar... not as good as a Fribble, because it was a bar, not a drink... but still good regardless.
I don't know if its the 4 pills or the ice cream, but I do feel a little bit better...
I think this icon should have one missing tooth so it could be me now.
