My FI and I will be up on LI next weekend to meet with all our vendors... Well, our florist just informed us that he will be on vacation when we're up there, so he can't meet with us! That would mean that I wouldn't be able to meet with him until our wedding day. I DON'T THINK SO!!! So, we need another florist!!! I can't leave the details about my flowers until then, would you? What should we do??? Thanks!

I'm using the Milleridge florist(my house florist)in Jericho. I'm thrilled with them. I also liked Colonial Flower shop in Bellmore. I think both are very fair with their prices & are willing to make your flowers the way you want them. Good Luck!

I'm using Burton's - but, I also checked out Colonial as mentioned above, and they are extremely fair with prices. I believe the lady I met with was Cher, and she was incredibly sweet and very budget conscious. We went with Burton's because they gave us more for less. But Colonial was only about 300 dollars more...good luck!!

I just got quoted $5,000 for flowers...is that the norm or is that high? I know NOTHING about what wedding flowers should be costing...

It depends on what you need, how many BMs do you have? how many cenertpieces are you getting? Are you decorating more than one room? It sounds very high to me-I have a small bridal party, but I designed everything & added extras, I'm paying about $1300(my flowers are the only thing I'm not over budget on) I think you should keep looking

We used Long Island Flower Garden in East Patchogue. Terry was the woman who worked with us. She was very helpful. Everyone told us how beautiful our flowers were. My bouquet actually lived for weeks after the wedding. They were very reasonably priced as well.

Well, I called Burton's and of course they're already booked. I figured they would be. Does anyone have any other suggestions for Suffolk County for around the same price as Burton's? Thanks!

I am using Flowers by Liz. She has been in the business for 15 years (i think). She does the flowers out of her house so her prices are very reasonable. I found her online. Check out her web sight. She had a better price than Burtons. WWW.flowersbyliz.com
I used towers flowers in n babylon....$2000 (but I didn't get church flowers)
you need to talk to your florist at least 2 weeks before so s/he can order the flowers!!!

I met with one of the vendors on this board before he was advertising. A florid Affair. He was very inexpensive and looked like he had nice flowers. At the time he did not have a showroom, I guess to keep overhead down. Give him a call, I belive his name is Chris.

Just a question about florists?
How can a florist be booked? Its not like a hall where the room is rented out. I imagine they can do several weddings/events in one day or is that the case they have several already going on?
I would assume they would that on as much as possible to make more money.'
