HELP!! I need some DJ Advice

I am so clueless when it comes to stuff!

How do we know if we need a MC & a DJ or just a DJ? Or if we need a light show with giveaways?

An MC is a great idea, he helps with getting people up and dancing. Just make sure you meet him/her ahead of time, you have to like his personality.

I dont think its a matter of if you need the extras, it depends on if you want them.

It really depends on what your looking to spend. I agree with having an MC because while the DJ is playing the music the MC gets people to dance and is basically extra entertainment. The light show pkgs. are nice but can get expensive(I want one though)and I've been to weddings that had both and both were just as nice. Im also getting the photo montage which I thought was great(they have screens up on both sides of the dance floor showing slides of pictures). The give aways I don't think are very important but if your having kids it's great. Not that I've booked anyone yet(still working on paying off the hall)but these are the things I'll be looking for in a package.

I booked an MC with the DJ -- they totally get everyone on the floor. I went with a deluxe lighting package because that's my taste. I wanted a 'club' atmosphere as far as everyone partying down. It's a personal choice. I didn't do give-aways though.
