Ok its a long story...but I was supposed leave for my HM the day after the wedding and go for the week. Im a teacher and the principal of the school I used to teach at allowed me to take the week after the wedding off. Long story short...I got a new teaching job and there is no way I can ask for a week off in December my first year in a district. So FH and I were going to move the HM to February break but the hotel is totally booked. We were supposed to go to the Ritz Carlton in Jamaica. So the travel agent Im working with said she would look into this for me....but does anyone have any suggestions??? We would like an all inclusive... or maybe somewhere in Europe (but we would wait for April break for that). I appreciate any suggestions.

There are a ton of all inclusive resorts in the Carribbean-- check out Couples Resorts- there are 3 in Jamaica..
Also check into Cabo..

Sandals Whitehouse-They are opening Feb. 2 and are offering a half off sale right now. You could get the top of the line room for only 4200 for the week and its going to be one of their most spectacular resorts.

A lot of people reccomend Adventure Spa Palace in Mexico. From what I hear it's a honeymoon type (adults only) all-Inclusive resort, that way when your on Winter recess you won't be around kids.. Just a thought.

Did you try bringing it up to your new principal? Sometimes they can be understanding. You did have this planned before you got the job. It might be worth it to ask before you drive yourself crazy trying to cancel and plan something else. Good Luck!!

I would have to agree with this post. I would definitley talk to prinipal. Its easy for me to say, I;m not in a district but I do teach and right before my interview even started I said 'Im engaged, here's my wedding and HM dates, hope it wont be a problem.' I wish you luck!!!

Secrets Resorts in Dominican Republic, Punta Cana...no time change (no jet lag) and the plane ride is only 4 hrs long!
All inclusive, NO KIDS, no singles (this may be changing), quiet, relaxing, and inexpensive!

My husband and I are both teachers, married in October. We waited until the day after school was out in June to go on our Honeymoon, and were able to stay away for two weeks :)
You could always book a local night or two somewhere special immediatly following the wedding as a mini 'honeymoon'...

Thats what were doing 3 daying @ a ski resort in poconos or someting and a longer vacay the day school lets out. Does anyone have any poconos or somewhere close weekend getaway suggestions? FM me

I too would look into Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica. I booked there for our honeymoon. I wouldn't be too concerned with the opening date being clost to when you are going away because they have already pushed the opening date back so they are giving themselves pleanty of time (as per my travel agent).

Check out Virgin-Vacations.com... they have fantastic deals for Rome, Paris London & Vienna that time of year. And Virgin is a great ariline to boot

Thanks for all of the great suggestions!!! I definitely can't ask for the time off. I was told by a tenured teacher not to take off anymore than 2 days. So we are going to take a long weekend trip the weekend of the wedding and then go away after like many of you said. I'll have to check out these places online and ask my travel agent. Thanks! Kelly

Have u given any thought to taking a cruise? All the food is included except for drinks and they are very relaxing and April would be a great time to take one to the Caribbean. Just a thought.
