HELP I NEED YOUR ADVICE!

here is my problem...i found the dress that i fell in love with at bridal reflections in carle place but i think it is a little too pricey! the tag price was 6850 and the designer was ines de santos, now i know that somewhere else has to have this dress but it is so difficult trying to locate it! i need some advice...i really only planned on spending $5000 on a dress. do you think that they will bargain on the price at all? im new at this and i dont know if bridal shops bargain!!!

I don't know if they bargain there, or if they would that much.
Why don't you contact the designer to see who carries your dress other than Bridal Reflections.
Although they are a nice store, I hear they are very pricey.

Call RK Bridal.... www.rkbridal.com.... my dress was only $1350 but they beat the price by $450.

I don't know if they'll bargain with you, but when I found my dress there, the saleslady I had was nice enough to tell me that the designer of my gown was having a trunk sale there 2 weeks later, so if I wanted to wait and come back, I would save 10% on my gown.

It helped (basically, it's like saving the sales tax). Just a thought!!

BTW, I loved my own and my experience at Bridal Reflection in Carle Place was a good one.

I found my dress at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa and was also able to bargain down the price of my dress. Good luck!

I just checked out 'The Knot' web-site. ANd the only place they list selling those dresses are Bridal Reflections. But if you can contact them (or find their web-site) Maybe you can find other places.

You could also call 'The Wedding Plaza' in Baldwin 516-223-002. They didn't ahve my dress but said they could order it & quoted me a price. (If they ask you how much Bridal Reflections is charging say $5550. See what happens? Good Luck!!

I never tell anyone not to spend $$ on something they love for their wedding. If you can afford it, and you know the dress is 'The One' then Go For It. You can try to negoiate with them but those designer dresses are hard to find on Internet site or smaller shops for a lot less. Not all shops are authrorized to sell high-end designers. Before calling all over the place, go to the designer's web site and see who is an authorized seller on LI. Then call those shops to get prices. I know some of the City brides come into Bridal Reflections- Carle Place because they find the dresses less expensive there than the City shops.
Yes, it is a lot of $$ for a gown, but the whole wedding costs a lot so if you can afford it, and you love it, go right ahead. Try to negoiate at least a few hundred off the price. I am sure they can work with you a bit.

Call some of the out of state salons to get a price quote just for comparison reasons. Chances are the BR quote will be exactly the same but no harm in calling.

Definitely try to bargain with BR - I did and I got a considerable discount from the 'retail' price. You're not going to save enough to bring you into your $5K budget but you may save yourself enough to feel good about it.

If you don't get anywhere on the bargaining route, definitely wait until a trunk show. Each designer does 3/year I believe - that will save you 10% plus you can meet the designer and make whatever changes you like to the gown.
