I am going to get Lyla's ears pierced soon too, she's 6 months. Her Dr doesn't do it either, but I know a couple of moms who's Drs did it, so I have to ask around. What age did the jewelry stores say they will do it at?

Try a different jewelers. MANY jewelers do it. Both of my niece's got their ears pierced at a jeweler, at under 3m old.
