Re: HELP!! im new here!
YES. I started planning my Sept wedding at the end of May.
It wasn't really that difficult... and you can REALLY negotiate prices with RHs if you plan it a couple of months away from the date
oh and CONGRATS & WELCOME!!!

Welcome and Congrats!!!!!
A December wedding should be beautiful. Even though you have a shorter amount of time to plan, it can certianly be done
Congrats again!

Re: HELP!! im new here!
Welcome! You can totally do it!! Just make a list of the vendors that you need to book and start making calls. I did all of my research online and over the phone, so when it was time to go to vendor appointments- it was basically to book their services!! Good luck! Have fun!! And congratulations on your engagement!!

hi date twin!
yes, definitely do-able, but you need to nail down the hall now. can you tell us where you are looking at? i can tell you who is booked already (we had several of our choices knocked out immediately b/c they didn't have 12/8 open).
welcome, congrats, and please let us know how we can help!

Re: HELP!! im new here!
ok im feeling better already i hopefully will try and get a good price on the rh. i called a couple of places already , and fox hollow quoted me for $80. we dont want to go over a $100 pp. the only other thing im worried about is my dress, after i book the hall and the church , i guess thats the next thing, right?? i would probably have no time to order, so it would have to be off the rack im assuming.......TIA

Here's what I did: Went to Lillettes in Baldwin, told them my budget and what I was looking for and if ANYTHING can be sold to me off the rack, to let me know.
sure enough, I tried on my dream dress and i got it off the rack!

Re: HELP!! im new here!
how far east are you willing to go? last time we checked, east wind still had the country gardens available (that's their smallest venue). they are pretty affordable. also check out the places on lake ronkonkoma.

Re: HELP!! im new here!
Believe it or not...David's Bridal has several really pretty dresses [I like the Oleg Cassini line] and you can get them within a month or two. I would check them out!
Also, decide on a DJ or Band and Florist!

Re: HELP!! im new here!
You can do it!! I switched my wedding from March of 08 to Sept. 07 at the end of May and I am pretty much finished with all of my planning. Check into the Chateau Briand. I wanted 12/7/07 and they were booked but check out the 8th.

We have been engaged for almost a year and truthfully, we just sat on our bums for a good portion of it doing nothing.
