HELP!!! I JUST GOT ENGAGED, IN JUNE. IT WAS THE MOST AMAZING DAY OF MY LIFE, BUT NOW IM AM SO CONFUSED AND OVERWELMED WITH ALL THIS PLANNING AND I NEED HELP...PPPLLLEEAAASSSEEE!! Sweety, you may want to take your email address off the public board. This board is seen by tons of people! Just keep posting here and searching...you'll get all the answers you need without people emailing you.

First things first. RELAX!!! You have alot of time until your wedding day so dont get all worked up just yet! Enjoy this time! My advice, tackle one thing at a time. I set a timeline for myself and that helps keep me on track and sane. I see you have your hall thats the most important part. Now I would start with the photographers. Research them and determine what you can afford and what you want in a photographer. Set a goal that over your semester break, you want to see 4 photographers. Now from now until then you can research and figure out which 4 you want to see. Dont let planning become more important than the engagment and the relationship! (my priest gave us that advice the first time we met with him!) Enjoy it and realize that although there is alot to do, it can all be handled and you will do it in time!
Good Luck and use the women on these boards, they have alot of knowledge as to the various vendors. Also ask any recent brides you know who they liked working with and who they wouldnt recommend. This can be helpful in narrowing down your search!!

Why are you so worried? I see your wedding date is 2005, you have a very long time to plan. I planned mine in less than eight months and it all got done. What have you gotten done so far?

I KNOW I HAVE TIME, BUT I GO TO COLLEGE FULL TIME AND WORK FULL TIME, MY ONLY DAY OFF IS SUNDAY ...PLUS WE'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO MOVE INTO BUT OUR INCOME RIGHT NOW IS SUFFEREING BECAUSE OF MY SCHOOL. I THINKS THATS WHAT SCARES ME...WERE DOING THIS ON OUR OWN. BOTH OF MY PARENTS ARE GOING THROUGH SOME REAL TOUGH MEDICAL PROBLEMS AND FINANCIALLY THEY ARE UNABLE TO HELP, WHICH I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH BUT IT IS TOUGH...SURE YOU UNDERSTAND!! SMILING

I agree with the other posts, relax and take your private email adress and your real name, (if that's your real name)of the the very public board. We have FM which is pretty much the same, and probably better. You can have all your wedding related mail in one place. You have time, the hall is the most important thing and you can manouver from there. It should be fine, relax and enjoy the planning. You already have a great start by joining all the rest of us.

My wedding date is 2 months from yours and I really think that there is nothing for us to worry about. We have plenty of time..
The only challenge for you is that Sunday is your only free day, and most vendors won't see you on sunday, because that is when they are doing stuff for the wedding.
I think your first step should be to find the band. That is what will set the mood of the whole wedding. They usually get booked 1/2 to 2 years in advance. If you want to cutt cost, than you can go with the DJ.. and you don't have to plan so much in advance.
I agree with other people that you should do things one a time. So far I got the hall, pic, video, band and next on my list is florist.
You should create a budget for the wedding and prioritize things that are important to you. Thus things you care most about you can spend a bit more money on, others you can compromise.
Also, if you are really worried, you can pick up some books about wedding planning. I did, and it helped me a lot!
