i know it's crazy... but... instead of being a 06 bride, i may become a 05 bride!!! and... the wedding will be in april, too!!! which means, it will leave me 4 months to plan for EVERYTHING!!!!
is it do-able??
or should i just give up on the idea....
any advice/suggestions are welcome!!!!

It IS doable! I started planning at exactly this time a year ago, and was married on March 27. It will definitely consume a bit of your time, but only you can decide if you're the type of person (or couple) to whom the timeframe seems reasonable.
If you are a careful planner and can prioritize, make a to-do list with due dates, and stick to them, you should be fine. I'd recommend targeting your planning and due dates as early as possible. Rush now so that you don't feel at all rushed when it's closer to the wedding. I'd also recommend splitting tasks between you and your FH - doesn't have to be 50/50 - whatever works for you. And one last thing - don't let yourself get crazy over any of the decisions; just gather a reasonable number of options, analyze them, and choose.
For us, it worked out great. Knowing that time was of the essence made alot of decisions easier, and I would have been quite anxious if I had to wait any longer until the wedding.
On the other hand, if it sounds like it may all be too stressful and you can imagine going crazy with all of the planning in the next month or two (which is when pretty much everything will need to get done), then you might want to just relax and keep the '06 plans.

we have the reception hall hold the date, will probably book right after confirming with FFIL tomorrow night. (long story on why we moved it up so much all of a sudden, won't go into that now.)
the only things we have right now is the hall, and the photographer (my cousin is a professional photographer.. that makes it much easier! )
will start shopping for a gown TOMORROW!!! will look into finding a band and a florist. invitations we have it under control.
we put a to-do list together this afternoon according to the knot checklist. FH and i are both minimalists, so hopefully we won't lose too much sleep over small details.
what is (are) the next step(s)? what are the things that i should pay attention to??
littlewilson - thanks for your advice!! hopefully i can get it done like you did!!! in a way, FH and i want to get married asap - to get it over with (not in a bad way... ehehhe ) and have kids!!!!

you can do it!!! i planned ours in 8 months, but in all honesty, the early planning was booking people and scratching out invite ideas. then the rest of the planning was done starting in late march. just don't get bogged down by the tiny incidentals and leave some deciions up to vendors, like napkin colors if choosing that will stress you out. delegate delegate delegate. good luck

You can so plan a wedding in 3 months. I had less them a year and really didn't start planning til April for my Sept. wedding. I think it may be alittle easier to plan with a time crunch because you won't be able to second guess yourself. Good luck and happy planning!

YOu can do it. My friend got engaged like 1 month ago and is gettting married in May of 05. So it can be done. However, b/c u are rushing things u might have to make last minute decisions that you might not want to make, but have to b/c of time constraints. It will be stressful but u can do it.

Sure it is! Mine is in April too. We just started planning, booked a hall, got musicians and I ordered a dress. The rest of the stuff you can get anytime, because there are many vendors to choose from. :)

I agree with everyone else here. It is VERY do-able. My FBIL and his wife started planning their May (2004) wedding in January (2004), everything went off without a hitch! They did book a lot of the hall's vendors, but other than that, things went very smoothly!

totally do-able!!!! and it might work out better because you won't have time to angonize!!! so, you have the hall and the photographer....here is a list of what I think you might need to do next:
1. book a church/a judge/rabbi...etc 2. get a dress...(totally do-able to get a dress rush ordered, or perhaps buy a sample), and bridesmaid dresses 3. order invitations 4. order flowers 5. order favors 6. have FH order his tux 7. order transportation (limo/party bus) GOOD LUCK!!!!
