So I'm about to approve my invites and I'm a little worried that I have too much time between the church and reception.
I'm getting married at Notre Dame Church in New Hyde Park at 4pm. We are having a full mass, so I'm figuring the ceremony will be over by 5. The reception starts at 7:30, is that too much time in between? the reception is at the North Ritz in Syosset which is about 20 minutes, but with traffic probably 30-40. Should I change the reception to 7??? FH and I want to take pictures at the north ritz, and eat something before everyone gets there.
Do you think I should change it to 7????

I dont think its too much time- our ceremony is at 2pm and the reception is at 7pm. People who want to be there will find something to do in between- I wouldnt change it

I think you will be fine. Lots of people have a big gap in between. Most guests are used to it and will figure something out for handling the time in between. Plus it will give you time to get pics taken and if you want to go to CH you will probably be able to instead of having to miss for pic taking. I have a big gap...2:30 is the church and 6:30 is the CH and church and RH are only about 15 minutes from one another. My mom would like me to make the church at 3:00 but I said no. I actually prefer the gap because FH and I would like to be able to go the CH and not be pulled out for pics.

I think it's fine. You also need time after the mass for the receiving line (if you're having that) and pics at the church (if you're doing that)

I don't think there is too much time! My ceremony is at 3:30 and the reception is at 7:30. You want to make sure you have enough time and you don't want to feel like you are being rushed. Church should be an hr with the receiving line and then your place of choice for pictures..plus the traffic and then pictures at your RH....So don't worry!!!

i think it is great- gives you time for photos with out being rushed and you can enjoy some of the cocktail hour if you wanted to.
