HELP! Just found our Rehearsal Dinner site won't do Friday night parties!
I just spoke to the church, made the Rehearsal Dinner for the Friday night before the wedding so that everyone in the bridal party could be there. I have some out of town attendants. Well, I just called the Olive Garden, which was in my budget of NO MONEY, and found out that they won't do parties on Friday or Saturday nights. They said they could accomodate us on Thursday.
I'm now freaking! I hate when I plan something and then someone throws a wrench in it! Any suggestions of other places? The church is in Centereach off of Middle Country Road.
OR do you think it's a big deal to reschedule with the church and just have it on Thursday and suffer without some people? Thoughts??

The church could probably switch it if they don't have any conflicts, since you just booked it, but I would think it would be better to have all key players there.
Sorry, don't know any restaurants in that area to suggest.

I think its not a big deal. Its up to you what you want to do but my MOH's rehersal was on a Thursday and eveyrone came had a good tiem and we even went to a bar afterwards for drinks! No one seemed to mind! and they had the next night to relax before the wedding
Sorry I dont know any places in that area!

What about John Harvards behind the mall (347 side) or Uno Pizza a little west of the mall.
ETA:Problem Solved: What about Reunions in Sports Plus. Then after dinner you can go play some games or lasar tag and burn off nervous energy. NO ICE SKATING THOUGH

It is difficult for restaurants (like Olive Garden) who rely on walk in traffic to reserve parties on popular nights such as Friday & Saturdays.
Try to think of places that have a separate room specific for parties....would you be interested in Chinese? Eastern Pavillion in East Setauket has a room separate for parties and might be in your budget (and fun. everyone likes Chinese and they also have Japense too). It is a straight run up Nichols Road about 1/10 mile east on 25A. Shouldn't take your folks more than 10 minutes to get there.
The only Italian Rest I know in that area is LoMonacos. I'm not familiar with their prices though.

How about LaMonacos (sp) on Middle Country Rd. Pomodorino closed down, I'm not sure if there's anything new in there, or LaGrova in the same center. Vincent's at Smithaven Mall. Hmmmm....I'll keep thinking for you since that's my neck of the woods.
