help ladies- scrapbooking question

Hi Ladies!

I did some scrapbooking this weekend- and although I'm OK with my progress I get stumped very easily.

I buy all sorts of great decorations- like page pebbles- and then never use them...

How do you guys get motivated? I look in magazines.. and yet when it comes to my own pages I just feel overwhelmed..

It's a real scrap dilemma.

I go to member galleries and search for a certain item...


many of the members have layouts published in magazines so there are some awesome examples...

I get the same way.. i have HUNDREDS of embellishments and i sit there stumped..

Happened the other night.. then i went to a website looking for layout designs and then looking at the persons page It came to mind what i wanted.. and i winded up doing a completly different page but used the same colors.. that was all i needed..

I set myself totally comfortable in the living room with my rolly cart I put in a DVD that i have seen a million times so i dont have to concentrate but it keeps me in a good mood, set up my snack tables all around me.. get in comfortable cloths.. get a bottle of water and then i am set..

I alwyas find its easier to plan simple pages with maybe just on embellishment on it at a time until you can get comfortable using more than one.

Just like my first scrapbook..,that had TONS of stickers, it was very busy, a page with ALOT of embellishments will look that way too!!

STart with one embellishment, say eyelets, get used to using them..in different ways on your page, then when you get comfortable with that move on to Ribbon and eyelets together!!

Before you know it...you will be scrapping like the pages in the magazines!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one... The layout I did this weekend I think was decent.. I'll have to take some pictures.. I did an orange/brown theme with blocks of detail pictures.. hard to explain.

I think because I want to be a perfectionist I get psyched out..

But I totally did the DVD snack take over of the living room idea.

My BIGGEST problem is making titles... I just don't know why I can't get the lettering down!
